Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh City branch opens two thematic exhibitions

The activity took place to practically celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 71st anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2025); and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).

From the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, “the opening song for the epic anti-American, national salvation” to the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975, is a proud historical journey of the Vietnamese people. The Dien Bien Phu victory ended 9 years of resistance against the French, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and strength of the entire nation, then the Great Victory of Spring 1975, with the peak of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, is the inheritance and strong promotion of the spirit of the Dien Bien Phu victory.

The Ho Chi Minh Campaign was not only the pinnacle of the resistance war against the US to save the country, but also a testament to the remarkable maturity of our army and people, ending neo-colonialism, completing the cause of liberating the South, and unifying the country. The great victory in the spring of 1975 was the crystallization of the will for independence, self-reliance, solidarity and strength of the entire Vietnamese people in the Ho Chi Minh era.

With the theme "From Dien Bien Phu Victory to the Great Spring Victory of 1975", the Organizing Committee introduces to the public 150 documentary photos divided into 3 parts: Part 1 - Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954; Part II - Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975 and Part III - Economic development potential of Ho Chi Minh City and Dien Bien province.

The theme vividly and authentically recreates the heroic historical periods of the nation, helping us look back at the glorious golden pages of history, pay tribute to the great contributions of previous generations, and at the same time contribute to educating the tradition of patriotism and revolutionary spirit for the younger generation.

With the topic 2 "The image of President Ho Chi Minh through the language of sculpture", Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh City branch displays and introduces a collection of 10 works on the theme of President Ho Chi Minh created by members of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association.

The works depict each historical period associated with President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary life, expressing infinite love and deep gratitude for Uncle Ho, a lifelong example of cherishing everything - forgetting only himself.

According to Ms. Luu Thi Tuyet Trinh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh City branch, through the language of sculpture, the image of President Ho Chi Minh is portrayed realistically and vividly. Although the creative style of each author is different, all works exude simplicity and nobility, deeply reflecting his moral example and style.

“In particular, these works were presented to the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh City branch to preserve and promote their value. It is a great honor for the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh City branch to receive these precious artifacts at a time when the whole country is celebrating this important historical event of the nation,” Ms. Luu Thi Tuyet Trinh added.

It is known that the thematic exhibition “From Dien Bien Phu Victory to the Great Victory of Spring 1975” will be open to the public until May 12. Meanwhile, the thematic exhibition “The image of President Ho Chi Minh through the language of sculpture” will be open to visitors from April 15.
