This morning, October 12, at Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School, Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Newspaper and Thien Tam Fund (Vingroup) jointly presented 30 bicycles to students in difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties and achieved high academic achievements.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper Nguyen Ty said that in recent years, in addition to professional activities, Quang Tri Newspaper has paid great attention to and regularly carried out social security activities. In particular, priority is given to supporting students with especially difficult circumstances to help them go to school.

Through the survey, it is known that Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School has many students who do not have means of transportation to school. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School on October 18 (2004 - 2024), Quang Tri Newspaper mobilized and received support from Thien Tam Fund to donate 30 bicycles to disadvantaged students with good academic performance. Hopefully, this will be a useful means and motivation for them to overcome some of their difficulties and strive to study well.

Receiving a bicycle from the support of Thien Tam Fund and Quang Tri Newspaper, Nguyen Viet Thong, a 6K student at Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School happily shared: “My father passed away from cancer, my mother has a brain tumor, my family is in very difficult circumstances. Every time I go to school, my sister and I share an old bicycle, which is very inconvenient because our schedules are different. Today, receiving a bicycle from the benefactors, I am very happy because from now on I can go to school on my own. I promise to try hard, study better to help my family and not let down the benefactors.”

Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School Principal Nguyen The Nhan said that in the 2024-2025 school year, the school has 31 classes with 1,397 students. Of these, more than 100 students have extremely difficult family circumstances, and their homes are far from school, making commuting very inconvenient due to lack of transportation.

The 30 bicycles donated by Quang Tri Newspaper and Thien Tam Fund today are practical gifts to help children have more conditions to go to school. This is also a meaningful activity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School.
