Speaking at the program, Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper Truong Duc Minh Tu said that last year, due to the negative impacts of the socio-economic situation, people's lives encountered many difficulties. Therefore, in addition to doing a good job in professional work, Quang Tri Newspaper always focuses on mobilizing charitable organizations and individuals to carry out many social charity activities and programs, supporting livelihoods to help people. "Giving Tet gifts to the poor" is one of the programs organized annually by the unit in coordination with Thien Tam Fund.
This year, the program will be implemented in communes, wards, and towns in 9 districts, towns, and cities in the province with 1,016 gifts, totaling over 600 million VND, for poor households and families in especially difficult circumstances. Although the gifts are not large in material terms, they contribute to sharing and encouraging people materially and spiritually during the coming of Tet and spring.
