After a 60-year journey of development under various names, on March 27, 1963, Quang Binh Newspaper published its first issue, marking the birth of the official mouthpiece of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee.

Continuing the tradition of the first revolutionary newspaper, "The Bright Path," which originated in Dong Hoi Prison in 1931, and in harmony with the nationwide revolutionary press, Quang Binh Newspaper has gradually risen to achieve very proud milestones, becoming a sharp and effective propaganda tool, a leading vanguard force on the cultural and ideological front, and making positive contributions to the cause of protecting, building, and developing the "Two Excellences" homeland.

Provincial leaders pressed the button to officially launch the Quang Binh Online Newspaper in 2012.

The newspaper's articles and journalistic works have had a positive and effective impact on the fields of Party building, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and safeguarding the regime; encouraging the Party Committee, government, and people of the province to resolutely implement the resolutions and policies of the Party, the State, and the Party Committee and government of Quang Binh province.

In particular, over the past decade, the launch of the Quang Binh online newspaper and the innovation in content and format of its publications, as well as the diversity and practicality of its specialized sections and columns, have met the information needs in the fields of current affairs, politics , economics, culture and society, national defense and security, entertainment, etc., creating a profound impact on readers.

Entering a new phase, amidst the rapid development of the fourth industrial revolution, and to meet the political tasks of the Provincial Party Committee and the needs of its readers, Quang Binh Newspaper has continuously strived, innovated, and improved to better fulfill its noble mission.

According to Editor-in-Chief Dinh Tung Lam, digital transformation in journalism is an inevitable trend, a matter of survival for the press, including Quang Binh Newspaper. The task is to simultaneously change to advanced journalistic technology and equipment, while quickly adapting to modern journalistic methods. We must bravely confront weaknesses and stagnation, and innovate strongly to avoid being left behind. While technological changes and equipment upgrades can rely on assistance, the mindset and passion for creativity must come from within the team itself. With this perspective, entering the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution, Quang Binh Newspaper, and especially its editorial office, has undergone strong and comprehensive reforms, focusing on quality and striving to elevate the newspaper's brand, concentrating on three main elements: technology, content, and people.

Before each issue of the newspaper publicizing important events, the editorial office of Quang Binh Newspaper always proactively and quickly develops plans and strategies for implementation.

Quang Binh Newspaper has focused on investing in new infrastructure and technological equipment: replacing old machinery and equipment with modern systems, implementing an electronic newsroom system, eliminating manual typesetting processes, and maximizing the use of new newsroom technologies. Since April 2022, Quang Binh Newspaper has revamped its presentation style, printing two pages in color for its daily issues. The electronic version of Quang Binh Newspaper has been redesigned with a more modern and eye-catching interface, creating a more enjoyable and attractive experience for readers. As a result, readers can access information more quickly and conveniently, and the newspaper continues to play a leading role in guiding public opinion and maintaining the province's information sovereignty in cyberspace.

Simultaneously, the newspaper continuously innovates its thinking, processes, and methods of information processing in a modern direction. The quality of its specialized sections and columns is enhanced based on closely adhering to the province's political tasks and promptly grasping and guiding the needs of readers as well as the development trends of journalism in the 4.0 era. Many new sections have been launched, such as "Life Stories" and "People of Quang Binh Around the World," offering interesting and multifaceted perspectives on the life and people of Quang Binh, along with many old sections that have been "reimagined" to reflect the spirit of the times.

The editorial office also proactively coordinated the development of thematic pages on current affairs, series of articles covering major political events of the country and the province such as "Joining Forces to Defeat the COVID-19 Pandemic," commemorating the 110th anniversary of the birth of General Vo Nguyen Giap; and commemorating the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Quang Binh. Most recently, a thematic page on reopening tourism and bringing OCOP products onto the online marketplace was launched, creating a new highlight for the newspaper.

Furthermore, while previously it only republished articles from print newspapers, the Quang Binh Online Newspaper has now developed its own sections and themes, encompassing print and television content, and has strongly developed emagazines, infographics, multimedia, and online dialogues. By keeping pace with digital media and applying technology to improve the quality of its publications, the newspaper has achieved many remarkable results.

Quang Binh Newspaper received the Third-Class Independence Order in 2011.

No matter how advanced technology becomes, without a skilled workforce to operate and utilize it, creativity and innovation become meaningless. Recognizing this, the newspaper's staff, editors, graphic designers, technicians, and employees are consistently prioritized for training and are becoming increasingly professional and specialized. This gradually overcomes the tendency to rely on directives and maximizes the creativity and initiative of reporters and editors. Through this, the quality of editing is improved, and the presentation style is innovated.

The demands of editorial work require not only accuracy and speed, but also the preservation of each author's unique personality in each work. Therefore, the exchange, learning, and sharing of experience and skills among editors and editorial board leaders must be carried out regularly, continuously, and promptly.

Many reporters from Quang Binh Newspaper have continuously won awards at the National Journalism Awards, ministerial and departmental journalism awards at the central and provincial levels.
