(CLO) On the afternoon of December 4, at the headquarters of Nhan Dan Newspaper, 71 Hang Trong, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, Nhan Dan Newspaper held a discussion with the Granma Newspaper delegation on digital transformation of journalism.
At the discussion, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association emphasized that the delegation's visit comes at an important time when Vietnam is preparing to celebrate many important events in 2025, affirming that the affection between Vietnam and Cuba, between the two parties and people of the two countries are always symbols that live forever in the hearts of Vietnamese journalists in general and Nhan Dan Newspaper in particular.

Briefly introducing Nhan Dan Newspaper to the Granma Newspaper delegation, comrade Le Quoc Minh stated that Nhan Dan Newspaper has always been the leading flag in propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to readers. The newspaper has also made important changes to meet the needs of readers in the digital age, maintaining its position as one of the leading press agencies of the Vietnamese revolutionary press.
In addition to maintaining the right way of reporting, in recent times, Nhan Dan Newspaper has applied many modern reporting methods to meet the requirements of the entire population to access Nhan Dan Newspaper, with special attention to the young generation, the future owners of the country. Nhan Dan Newspaper has actively applied digital technology to professional work, as well as operating very effectively on social networking platforms such as Facebook, TikTok...
"In the propaganda campaigns to celebrate major holidays in 2024, Nhan Dan Newspaper will not only stop at reporting a lot of news and in-depth content, but also create many special products to attract readers, such as the Dien Bien Phu Victory panorama supplement or the Hanoi Flag Tower collage, thereby inspiring young people to approach the country's history," emphasized comrade Le Quoc Minh.
Nhan Dan Newspaper has also promoted other diverse activities to attract readers and audiences such as inviting world-famous artists to perform in Vietnam, organizing many social security activities, building charity houses, giving scholarships, etc., making these activities a characteristic of Nhan Dan Newspaper, thereby contributing to increasing the newspaper's coverage in all aspects of social life.

At the discussion, Comrade Oscar Alberto Sánchez Serra gave an overview of Granma Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Cuba. The Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Granma Newspaper affirmed that Granma Newspaper and Nhan Dan Newspaper share the same path, the same mission and the same concerns.
He shared that Granma Newspaper will soon celebrate its 60th anniversary, thereby continuing to promote innovation based on maintaining core principles, while adapting to new trends to more effectively carry out its assigned tasks.
According to the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Granma Newspaper, the Cuban press is also undergoing many innovations, including the recently passed Cuban Media Law. In addition to creating a legal framework, this law promises to help the Cuban press make many breakthroughs, when accompanied by testing new financial tools so that press agencies can be autonomous and cover part of their costs.
In addition, with the aim of reaching young people, Granma Newspaper has increased its presence on social platforms, implemented initiatives to combat harmful information, and solutions to meet the needs of young readers.

Agreeing with maintaining the traditional information sharing mechanism between the two newspapers, Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh said that there should be more new and creative cooperation products, creating an important highlight in press cooperation between the two sides, as well as deepening cooperation between the two countries.
Expressing agreement with the proposals of comrade Le Quoc Minh, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes also said that the current way of doing journalism needs to be in line with the trend of the times to make journalism more modern.
