Nhan Dan Newspaper organizes a special information and propaganda campaign on publications and platforms to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highly appreciated Nhan Dan Newspaper for its careful and thorough preparation, organizing a special information and propaganda campaign on publications and platforms such as Nhan Dan Daily, Nhan Dan Weekend, Nhan Dan Monthly, Thoi Nay; publishing a special publication of more than 100 pages "From historical milestones to the aspiration for power"; building an electronic page "The Great Victory of Spring 1975"...

The Vice President stated that this activity of Nhan Dan Newspaper is very effective, following the outstanding and impressive activities of last year, which were the creation of the Panorama supplement and the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Interactive Exhibition of Nhan Dan Newspaper, which resonated and created a profound social effect. This year, Nhan Dan Newspaper continues to publish the special supplement Ho Chi Minh Campaign, combining traditional print media and modern technology to bring readers new experiences. This is the first time a large-scale exhibition will be held at the Nhan Dan Newspaper's editorial office facing Hoan Kiem Lake, aiming to attract a large number of people and tourists. At the same time, it is the result of the innovative efforts with a high sense of responsibility of Nhan Dan Newspaper in the work of propagating important events of the country, continuing the glorious tradition of the newspaper considered the "big brother" of the Vietnamese revolutionary press.

The Vice President believes that the special information campaign of Nhan Dan Newspaper on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification will be an activity of profound political and social significance, contributing to the propaganda and education of the tradition of patriotism and the spirit of great national unity of all generations of Vietnamese people, contributing to creating a strong driving force for our country to enter a new era, an era of prosperous development.

In his opening speech, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh emphasized that Nhan Dan Newspaper identified the event of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification as an extremely important event; at the same time, he said that Nhan Dan Newspaper's communication campaign had been carefully prepared and built 6 months ago, deployed on all publications, including publications and digital platforms of Nhan Dan Newspaper, demonstrating the heroic tradition of the newspaper considered the "big brother" of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press. Hundreds of reporters, editors, cadres and employees took part, with many trips "to the South and the North" to convey historical lessons, touching stories, valuable documents depicting sacrifices, dedication, and the desire for peace and reunion. In particular, today Nhan Dan Newspaper also launched an exhibition including 11 enlarged photos of the front pages of Nhan Dan Newspaper published on April 30 of the years 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020.

The exhibition also recreates historical battles, starting from the Central Highlands Campaign with the peak of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, which, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People's Army, General Vo Nguyen Giap said, "The day of complete victory on April 30, 1975 went down in history as an unparalleled strategic end. Deputy Director of the Institute of Military History, Colonel, Doctor Le Thanh Bai shared that we have completely made a breakthrough in bringing historical knowledge through technology to readers and the public. For those who work in history, we need to promote this issue because history must reach more of the public. In the process of accompanying Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Institute of Military History has presented new research and the two sides have had exchanges to jointly deploy and convey it to readers. One of the historical witnesses, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Colonel Nguyen Van Luc - Commander of the Decisive Victory Air Raid Squadron - Tan Son Nhat Airport said, The air raid on April 28, 1975 was an opportunity for us to repay the gratitude of the Party and the People for giving us the opportunity to study and practice combat skills. The attack on Tan Son Nhat Airport with 18 bombs that shook Saigon was a part, but the most important thing was to shake the enemy's will to defend Saigon to the death, causing the enemy to quickly disintegrate, and we could attack faster.

Sharing about the special day of April 30, 1975, Corporal Lu Van Hoa, driving tank T54B number 843, which crashed into the side gate of the Independence Palace, confided that the moment tank 843 crashed into the side gate on the left, followed by tank 390 crashing into the main gate and the moment comrade Bui Quang Than planted the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam on the roof of the Independence Palace brought the soldiers extremely intense emotions. It was "an extremely happy and proud moment because when the liberation flag was raised on the roof of the Independence Palace, it signaled the complete collapse of the Saigon puppet regime, the complete liberation of the South, and the reunion of the North and South. We jumped out of the car, hugged each other, and laughed until we cried. I thought, this is a lucky thing for us to have the opportunity to witness this historic moment of the nation" - Mr. Lu Van Hoa said.
