On the afternoon of April 19, Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with IB Group Vietnam organized the launch of the MV “Going Home” - a special music product promoting Vietnam tourism. In the MV, artist Kenny G performed the song Going Home at famous landmarks of Hanoi such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Long Bien Bridge.

WHEN TOURISM IS EFFECTIVELY PROMOTED THROUGH MUSIC
In November 2023, saxophonist Kenny G had an explosive performance in Hanoi during his second tour in Vietnam. At the show "Kenny G Live in Vietnam" co-organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group Vietnam at the National Convention Center on the evening of November 14, 2023, thousands of audiences were captivated by the trumpet of the American legend with famous songs associated with his name, including "Going Home".
After the show, Kenny G appeared at famous landmarks in Hanoi on November 15 to film the MV “Going Home”. At the time of filming the MV, artist Kenny G wrote a handwritten message to express his feelings for the capital city of Hanoi and the Vietnamese audience.
"Hanoi is a wonderful city with wonderful people. Thank you for the warm welcome you gave me. Sincerely, Kenny G," the American saxophonist wrote.

In the MV “Going Home”, the audience can both listen to the saxophone in Kenny G’s familiar song and admire the landmarks with cultural and historical values of Hanoi as well as Vietnam, including: Long Bien Bridge at dawn, Hoan Kiem Lake at the end of the year, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam... The thousand-year-old capital appears with a beauty that is both peaceful, romantic and heroic, ancient on the background music that is familiar to millions of viewers.
Not only introducing top music, through the MV "Going home", Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group hope to spread historical and cultural values, the beauty of Vietnamese people, contributing to promoting and developing tourism.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association shared: As an important press agency in the Vietnamese press system, the voice of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, this is the first time Nhan Dan Newspaper has participated in promoting Vietnamese tourism with a music video instead of using its inherent strengths such as news, reports...

"The idea comes from the Good Morning Vietnam program initiated by Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group in 2023, in which all ticket sales are used for charity purposes. We also invited legendary saxophonist Kenny G to return to Vietnam and he appreciated the good meaning of the program. Therefore, he donated a saxophone to contribute more to the charity fund. He also enthusiastically participated in the music video promoting Hanoi tourism - a product that we believe will attract more attention than traditional tourism commercials."
According to the Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, all filming and post-production were completed early with high quality. However, the copyright application process was quite detailed, with many contacts, so it took a lot of time. However, with the goal of being able to promote as widely as possible the beautiful images of the country and people of Vietnam to friends around the world via the Internet, the Organizing Committee was very determined.
"Today, we are very happy that the product has been completed and can be widely announced, contributing to introducing Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general to domestic people and international friends," Mr. Le Quoc Minh affirmed.

Expressing his emotion when watching the MV “Going Home” in person, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee affirmed: The MV has touched the hearts and emotions of listeners, bringing special vibrations about the thousand-year-old capital.
According to Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, promoting tourism through music videos is a very effective way, because with only a moderate cost, the image of the country and people of Vietnam in general, and Hanoi in particular, has the opportunity to reach a large global audience.
Mr. Tran Sy Thanh shared his feelings at the event.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that music is the shortest way to promote tourism, bringing the beauty of Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general to the world.
Appreciating the new and creative approach of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong believes in the project's influence and impact. "Watching the MV, the audience will ask the question: Where is Hanoi? I want to go to Hanoi right now."

INTERESTING REVELATIONS ABOUT THE ONLY MV GOING HOME IN THE WORLD
Sharing more at the event, Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong said that to make the MV, the Organizing Committee had to spend 8 months to convince Kenny G to agree to cooperate in production. The reason is because this is Kenny G's only MV "Going Home" worldwide. Previously, the American saxophone legend had only performed this song on stage, so there were only video clips recording the performance.
Besides, Kenny G is also particularly "meticulous" when it comes to setting very high requirements for time, filming quality, and post-production.
"In the contract, Kenny G clearly stated that he could refuse if he was not in good health or had poor technique when going to the set, affecting the quality of the product. He also requested to directly watch the MV after post-production, and if he was not satisfied, he had the right to unilaterally refuse," Mr. Duong revealed.
"After filming and post-production, Kenny G did not edit any details in the MV. Perhaps the beauty of Hanoi created special emotions for him," Mr. Duong said.

The song “Going Home” is included in the album “Kenny G Live”, produced in 1989, which won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. This is Kenny G’s most popular and well-known work, even played daily on loudspeakers, supermarkets, train stations, schools... in many Asian cities for nearly 30 years.
According to The New York Times, the song has inspired many music students to study saxophone. “Going Home” is also one of Kenny G’s most beloved songs worldwide.
