Leading US travel magazine Travel + Leisure praised Phu Quoc as a rising star among the world's most beautiful islands, able to compete with the Maldives.

The reason why Phu Quoc is increasingly rising on the world's island tourism map is its excellent visa policy and natural landscape. These factors can help Phu Quoc compete with the Maldives sea paradise to win the title of the world's number one tourist island. In an article published at the end of September, the prestigious American magazine with nearly 5 million global readers, called Phu Quoc "the hidden gem of Southeast Asia". Previously, within the framework of The World's Best Awards 2024 by Travel + Leisure, Phu Quoc pearl island surpassed many other big names in the region such as Phuket (Thailand), Bali (Indonesia) to become the second most wonderful island in the world, just behind the Maldives.

Travel + Leisure commented that sophisticated travelers from all over the world have long known Phu Quoc as a top destination with breathtaking natural scenery and beaches that seem to come out of paintings. In particular, Phu Quoc's visa-free policy for all visitors is an important "push", creating favorable conditions for international visitors to stay up to 30 days without worrying about administrative procedures. This is an advantage that not every destination has. "Irresistible charm" is what Travel + Leisure describes about Phu Quoc, especially the South of the island. Listing the reasons for this, Travel + Leisure editors highly appreciate the beauty of the beaches, luxury resorts and diverse entertainment experiences on the island. The American magazine praised Kem Beach in the South of Phu Quoc Island as a "must-see" destination and a symbol of luxury resort tourism. “The appeal of this beach goes beyond its natural beauty, offering visitors a place to relax and rejuvenate at some of the best resorts in the area,” Travel + Leisure’s writer said. Here, visitors can enjoy the peaceful, relaxing natural space and experience luxury resorts such as New World Phu Quoc, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay or Premier Village Phu Quoc at nearby Ong Doi Cape. Phu Quoc’s appeal comes from its “outdoor adventures,” with countless experiences such as swimming, diving, kayaking, and exploring the island’s rich marine ecosystem.

Besides fireworks and modern entertainment activities, Phu Quoc is also a great place to explore Vietnamese culture. At the end of the year, visitors will be welcomed by the Symphony of the Sea show at Cau Hon beach, combining jetski and flyboard performances with Vietnamese cultural elements such as festival drums, lion dances, kite flying, and fireworks. The show combining puppetry and cultural characteristics of three regions "Dear Vietnam" will be performed at the A Oi theater with a beautiful sea view. Some other highlights not to be missed are the world's longest three-wire cable car to Hon Thom island - which will become an entertainment paradise in the future with a series of attractive parade shows and bustling EDM performances. It is impossible not to mention cuisine when talking about Phu Quoc. This island is famous for its fresh seafood dishes such as herring salad, sea urchin, grilled mantis shrimp. This year, Phu Quoc will open a new craft beer factory. In addition, the VUI-Fest Bazaar night market with stalls selling fashion, jewelry, souvenirs and street food is also a must-see destination for those who love shopping and exploring cuisine. According to Travel + Leisure, Phu Quoc is also a suitable choice for all budgets of tourists. From simple hotels in Sunset Town to luxury resorts in Bai Kem, this island attracts everyone, from backpackers, Western backpackers to billionaires, A-list stars looking for a sunny tropical resort paradise.

In addition, one of the important factors that makes Phu Quoc different from other destinations in Vietnam is the visa exemption policy. Global visitors can stay on the island for up to 30 days without a visa. This is a great advantage that helps Phu Quoc compete strongly with other famous destinations in the region. “With all these amazing advantages and an exciting new award, there is no reason not to experience the magic of Phu Quoc,” Travel + Leisure concluded about Vietnam's pearl island.
