On November 15, CNN (USA) quoted sources as saying that Mr. Jared Kushner - son-in-law of US President-elect Donald Trump - will play an important role in the new administration's efforts in the Middle East.
The news article reads: “Jared Kushner, according to diplomats and allies of Mr. Trump, will become an important link in the new administration's Middle East strategy.”
According to the newspaper, Kushner has a special relationship with leaders in the region, which he built during Mr. Trump's first term as president and continued to maintain after his father-in-law left the White House.
CNN quoted one of the diplomats who worked with Mr. Trump's son-in-law in the White House as saying: "No one in the new team has the level of trust that Jared does."
Mr Kushner is unlikely to be part of the official state structure, but sources say he will serve as an outside adviser.
Previously, the Financial Times (UK) also reported that Mr. Kushner will not return to the White House in the new administration but may advise the president on Middle East policy.
Regarding the US's Middle East policy, on November 12, President-elect Donald Trump announced that he would nominate former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, 69, as US Ambassador to Israel.
In addition, Mr. Trump also appointed close friend and campaign donor, real estate investor Steve Witkoff, 67, as special envoy to the Middle East.
Mr Trump ran for US president on a pledge to end conflicts abroad, including the war in Gaza that erupted after Hamas attacked Israel last year.
