On April 2, the leader of the People's Committee of Tan Phuoc District (Tien Giang) said that he had directed the district's authorities to clarify the case of a 1-year-old girl being abused by her nanny. The incident is said to have occurred on March 31, at a childcare facility located near the Long Giang Industrial Park (Tan Lap 1 Commune, Tan Phuoc District).

According to the content of the clip, the woman believed to be a nanny was lying down and surfing on her phone in an area where children were sleeping. Suddenly, the nanny turned around and used her hands to repeatedly hit the face and head of a 1-year-old girl, causing her to cry loudly. The force of the hit was so strong that the security camera recorded the "pop" sounds and the baby's cries.

The nanny also threw a pillow at a sitting boy, causing him to fall backwards onto the edge of the mattress.

Tan Phuoc district leaders said they had been informed about the incident and asked the police to investigate and clarify. If there is sufficient evidence, they will prosecute.

"The district's view is to handle this case seriously. If this is a licensed unit, the license will be revoked immediately. If it does not have a license, it will be banned from operating and handled according to the law," he said.

According to information from the authorities, the mother of the abused girl is from Binh Phuoc province and is temporarily residing in Tan Lap 1 commune, Tan Phuoc district (Tien Giang). The girl was sent to a private daycare facility by her mother to go to work as a worker in the Long Giang industrial park.
