Bao Lam: Unexpected reward for people who handed over rare pangolins

As reported by Lam Dong Online Newspaper: Previously, at around 9:00 p.m. on March 29, when Mr. Truong Quang Phuoc closed the gate to go to bed, he heard a strange noise in the yard outside the vegetable garden next to his house. Indeed, Mr. Phuoc went to check and discovered a Javan pangolin weighing 2.1 kg crawling from the vegetable garden to the porch. Knowing that this was a rare pangolin, Mr. Phuoc temporarily detained it, then quickly reported it to the local authorities and relevant agencies.

After that, Bao Lam District Forest Protection Department received the above pangolin; at the same time, coordinated to hand it over to Cat Tien National Park for continued care and release into the natural environment according to regulations.

Vice Chairman of Bao Lam District People's Committee Dong Van Truong presented the Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee to Mr. Truong Quang Phuoc. At the same time, he thanked Mr. Phuoc for his good deed in protecting rare wild animals. Thereby, affirming that the handover of Mr. Phuoc's rare pangolin is a practical action that needs to be encouraged and replicated to contribute to raising public awareness in protecting wild animals and conserving biodiversity.
