The Association of the Elderly in Bao Lam district has 9,193 members participating in activities at 14 grassroots associations, with 128 branches and 219 association groups. In recent years, the Association of the Elderly at all levels has actively advised the Party Committee and local authorities to create conditions to build and strengthen the Association, both in terms of organization and the role of the elderly. Promoting the role and exemplary age, the local elderly have constantly propagated and educated their children, relatives, and families to comply with all policies and guidelines of the Party and policies and laws of the State; actively responded to campaigns and emulation movements launched by the Central Association of the Elderly in Vietnam and Lam Dong province. In particular, the elderly in the area always play a core role in the Campaign "All people unite, build cultural life in residential areas". In the emulation movement “Old age, bright example”, the Association at all levels regularly propagates and mobilizes members to actively participate in labor, production and business. Since then, many typical examples have appeared in various fields, actively contributing to poverty reduction and legitimate enrichment.
With the spirit of "The older the age, the higher the ambition, setting a good example for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland", the elderly in the district always set an example in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies. Up to now, the whole district has more than 2,500 elderly people participating in activities in various types of clubs in various fields of social life; over 1,200 elderly people are directly working, producing and doing business according to the model of family farms, businesses and services. Of which, 746 members are doing well economically, 66 families are excellent. Through the movement of doing good economics of the elderly, not only the spirit and will in economic development are promoted, but also the role and position of the elderly in educating their children and grandchildren in the spirit of independence, diligence, and diligence in working and studying are promoted.
To date, the number of members who are good at doing business at the district level is 24 in the fields of agriculture, business services and tourism. The number of members who are good at doing business at the grassroots level is 404. The material and spiritual life of members is increasingly improved. In addition, the Association also maintains more than 100 cultural, artistic, physical education and sports clubs, intergenerational self-help clubs, attracting more than 2,100 members to participate in "living happily, living healthily, living usefully".
On this occasion, 30 typical examples in the movement of Elderly people doing good business in the period of 2018 - 2023 were commended and rewarded by the People's Committee of Bao Lam district and the Representative Board of the local Elderly Association.
