Ms. Trinh Thi Chinh, a retired cadre in Cho Gao district, is living with diabetes and myocardial ischemia. She regularly comes for monthly check-ups and receives medicine. She shared gently: “I am not worried about anything. I have health insurance, the State will take care of it.”

Or like Mr. Tu in Cai Lay district, an elderly farmer who was hospitalized for severe pneumonia, his children and grandchildren were working far away and could not afford the hospital fees. Luckily, he had health insurance, so the entire treatment process was covered, and his family only had to pay for a small portion outside the list and food expenses. Such support is invaluable to ordinary workers.

By the end of March 2025, more than 1.57 million people had participated in health insurance at the Tien Giang Provincial Social Insurance, with the health insurance participation rate reaching 94.6% of the province's population. In the first quarter alone, the health insurance fund paid more than VND 303 billion for nearly 900,000 medical examinations and treatments, helping hundreds of thousands of people access health services without being hindered by financial burdens.

The family health insurance policy is a bright spot that contributes to sharing the burden of costs, with profound humanity. When the entire family participates in health insurance, the contribution level is reduced, specifically: The first person pays 1,263,600 VND/12 months, the second person pays 884,520 VND/12 months (30% reduction compared to the first person), the third person pays 758,160 VND/12 months (40% reduction compared to the first person), the fourth person pays 631,800 VND/12 months (50% reduction compared to the first person), the fifth person and beyond pays 505,440 VND/12 months (60% reduction compared to the first person).

Participating in health insurance is not only a right, but also a responsibility to oneself and the community. It is a preparation for the unexpected, a practical action demonstrating the spirit of mutual love, "the healthy contribute to take care of the weak, the people of today share with the people of tomorrow".
