Ha Giang Newspaper celebrates 60th anniversary of its founding and publishes its first issue

On the morning of April 10, Ha Giang Newspaper solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its founding and the publication of its first issue (April 13, 1964 - April 13, 2024). Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Manh Dung, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Luu Dinh Phuc, Director of the Press Department, Ministry of Information and Communications; former provincial leaders, leaders of Ha Tuyen Newspaper, Ha Giang Newspaper through the periods; representatives of departments, branches and sectors of Ha Giang province; leaders of Central and local Party Newspapers.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association spoke at the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Ha Giang journalists and delegates reviewed the glorious 60-year tradition of Ha Giang Newspaper. On April 13, 1964, the Standing Committee of Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee met and officially resolved to establish Ha Giang Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Provincial Party Committee.

Since its inception, despite numerous difficulties and shortages, Ha Giang Newspaper has affirmed its pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front of a Party newspaper; actively propagandized and encouraged cadres, armed forces, and people of all ethnic groups in the area to well implement the policies of the Party and the State in general, and the directives, resolutions, programs, and plans of the Party Committee and the provincial government in particular; actively fought against and criticized negative manifestations, contributing to building a new cultural life; promptly discovered and commended typical advanced examples, initiatives, and good practices in labor production emulation movements.

Comrade Nguyen Manh Dung, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee, presented a flower basket and congratulated Ha Giang Newspaper.

Currently, Ha Giang Newspaper has stepped up propaganda work on Party building, fighting against wrong and hostile viewpoints, negative and degraded manifestations; stepped up propaganda on the implementation of specialized resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee in the fields of economy, culture and society; actively participated in press awards organized by the Central and the province.

Comrade Nguyen Trung Thu, Editor-in-Chief of Ha Giang Newspaper delivered the opening speech at the Celebration Ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh acknowledged, congratulated and highly appreciated the achievements and important contributions of Ha Giang Newspaper in the past time, actively contributing to the overall development of the Party newspaper system nationwide. Over the past 60 years, along with the press nationwide, Ha Giang Newspaper with its courage, intelligence, spirit of innovation and constant creativity, has affirmed its important position on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, worthy of the trust of local Party committees, authorities, people and the press public.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association emphasized that, in the face of opportunities and challenges, Ha Giang Newspaper needs to quickly innovate to continue to affirm its position, including paying attention to improving the quality of journalistic works; competing with the press nationwide to make efforts and actively transform digitally to keep up with the development trend of journalism; promoting the development of works and types of journalism in a multimedia direction to meet the requirements of the task. Comrade Le Quoc Minh also suggested that Ha Giang Newspaper continue to innovate and further improve the quality of publications, increase the application of modern journalism methods, new journalism technology, attractive information, in the right direction, proactively seek readers, bring information, especially in-depth information to readers through many different ways and methods to expand the readership.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Manh Dung acknowledged and congratulated the new developments of Ha Giang Newspaper over the past 60 years; at the same time, he believed in the working spirit, determination to innovate, integrate, and build an increasingly professional, modern press agency, keeping up with the development trend of the collective leadership, reporters, and editors of Ha Giang Newspaper today.

To continue to meet new requirements, the Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the leadership of Ha Giang Newspaper to continue to promote the precious tradition of the Party newspaper over the past 60 years, focusing on building a united and united Party cell and agency; improving the quality of Party cell activities, the quality of Party members, and improving the leadership capacity of the Party cell in organizing and implementing assigned tasks.

On this occasion, Ha Giang Newspaper was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister and the Emulation Flag of the Cluster; many collectives and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Ha Giang Newspaper./.
