Although storm No. 4 has passed for half a month, many households in Chuong My district, Hanoi are still isolated because the water level of the Bui River has not yet receded. Many households have to stay in concentrated areas arranged by the government and cannot return home because of deep flooding.

Tens of thousands of people in Chuong My district, Hanoi are having their houses and fields flooded by the rising water of the Bui River.

Mr. Tran Trong Phu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Chuong My District (Hanoi City) said that currently, the water level of the Bui River is high, so 13/32 communes and towns (with more than 5,000 households and more than 20,000 people) are still affected, of which 8 communes are most severely flooded.

"Currently, many villages in communes such as Nam Phuong Tien, Tan Tien... still have houses flooded 2-3 meters deep. Many households have not been able to return home for more than half a month because the water has not receded, and have had to stay at the Commune Health Station, the Commune Military Command, and the Commune People's Committee headquarters to ensure safety," said Mr. Phu.

Mr. Phu also said that over the past half month, flooding has disrupted the lives of tens of thousands of people in Chuong My district, causing many difficulties.

Boxes of sausages and water were delivered to people affected by floods in Nam Phuong Tien commune, Chuong My district, Hanoi.

"We are very touched because in times of difficulty and disaster, we have received timely sharing and help from the government, functional forces, groups and individuals. After nearly 20 days of living in a concentration camp, no one has gone hungry," said Ms. Tinh.

"Currently, there are still 4 villages in the commune that are still deeply flooded, so the commune has arranged 4 locations for people to stay. The goods sent by donors will be delivered to the people affected by the flood as quickly as possible. This will help people overcome difficulties during the days away from home due to the flood," said Mr. Than.
