This is the theme of the 29th Conference of Party Newspapers of Northern Provinces and Cities in 2024, organized by Bac Giang Newspaper this morning, October 18, at the Bac Giang Provincial Convention Center.

In his opening speech, Editor-in-Chief of Bac Giang Newspaper Trinh Van Anh emphasized that improving the investment and business environment is one of the key tasks of the entire political system; it is an important solution to mobilize resources, promote investment attraction, develop production and business, and promote socio-economic growth of the country and localities. In the implementation process, besides the participation of the entire political system, propaganda plays a very important role.
In Bac Giang province, in order to improve the business investment environment and promote economic growth, in addition to the efforts and creativity in leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, press agencies in general and local Party newspapers in particular have clearly demonstrated their pioneering role in bringing the Party's policies and the State's and local policies on improving the business investment environment into life.
In particular, it is important to promote new solutions in the fields of land, environment, customs, tax, administrative reform; remove difficulties and obstacles in project implementation; policies, solutions of the province and progress of key transport works and projects; ensure security and order, create a stable environment for businesses to invest with peace of mind; analyze and explain shortcomings, limitations, and bottlenecks that hinder common development.
With the efforts and determination of the entire political system, all levels, sectors and localities, the province's investment and business environment has improved significantly. Specifically, the provincial competitiveness index in 2022 ranked 2nd in the country, up 29 places compared to 2021; in 2023, it ranked 4th out of 63 provinces and cities.
That result has significantly contributed to promoting investment attraction and economic growth of the province, helping the economic structure shift positively, especially, industry has developed strongly, Bac Giang has become a bright spot of the country and one of the industrial centers of the region.
Standing Vice Chairwoman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Council Lam Thi Huong Thanh said that despite facing many difficulties and challenges, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Bac Giang province have made efforts to break through and become a bright spot in the country in economic development, an attractive destination for many investors.
In particular, the economic growth rate is always at the top of the country, leading the provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region. In the first 9 months of 2024, the growth reached 13.89% (the highest in the country). Contributing to the overall achievements of the province is the active participation of the press and media agencies in general, and Bac Giang Newspaper in particular.
From the experience and practices of Bac Giang province in attracting investment, the workshop is an opportunity for the locality to share the methods and approaches of the province, with the hope that local press agencies will discuss and contribute to improving the quality of propaganda work in general and in attracting investment in particular.
In addition to encouragement, good and creative practices need to be discovered and reflected on existing problems and limitations, thereby proposing and suggesting solutions to remove difficulties to promote investment attraction commensurate with the potential and advantages of each locality.
At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing, analyzing, and evaluating the role and position of local Party newspapers in propagating the improvement of the investment and business environment, especially the application of modern journalism technology in the context of the 4.0 revolution and the strong digital transformation of journalism; evaluating new points, creative and effective ways in organizing content, structuring special pages, columns, campaigns, and routes to propagate tasks directly related to improving the investment and business environment...
30 presentations from press agencies, departments, branches and localities at the workshop all affirmed that the topic "Party newspapers promote improvement of investment and business environment, promote economic growth" is a good, practical topic, close to the propaganda work of the press.
Through the workshop, we will contribute to evaluating advantages, new approaches, proposing solutions to continue innovation, improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda to improve the investment and business environment, and promote economic growth.
Speaking at the workshop, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi congratulated the remarkable socio-economic development of the northern localities in general and Bac Giang province in particular in recent times.
At the same time, it is affirmed that this achievement has important contributions from local Party press agencies. In order to promote and further improve the quality and efficiency of attracting and using foreign investment capital, closely following the spirit of resolutions and action programs, in the coming time, not only Bac Giang Newspaper but also local Party press agencies in the Northern region and the whole country need to have more creative and effective ways to promote investment attraction, actively contributing to improving the business environment and attracting enterprises.
In particular, it is necessary to promote digital transformation, foster political and professional skills for journalists, focus on training, innovation, and application of journalism technology; support and share valuable experiences and good practices with each other to join hands and contribute more effectively to the socio-economic development of localities, especially in attracting investment.
