This was affirmed by Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association at the ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association (April 21, 1950 - April 21, 2025) taking place this morning, April 21, in Hanoi.

At the ceremony, the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association reviewed the 75-year journey of formation and development of the Vietnam Journalists Association - from its first establishment in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune, Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen, to the Association's great role in the resistance war, national construction and the renovation period.

During that historical journey, the Vietnam Journalists Association has promoted its role as a political - social - professional organization of journalists, innovated its methods of operation, and met the requirements of the new situation: being the voice of the people, a forum of society, actively participating in social supervision and criticism, contributing to building a clean and strong Party and political system.

The President of the Vietnam Journalists Association affirmed: "First and foremost, the Association always cares about protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members; closely coordinates with press management and leadership agencies, proactively proposes, recommends and participates in the development of mechanisms and policies related to press activities."

2024 is also a year of active and effective activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association, with many important milestones in improving the quality of journalism, building a strong Association and contributing to the overall development of the country.

Entering a new era, an era of national growth, according to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, the regional and global context with the rapid development of science and technology poses countless opportunities and decisive challenges. "The Vietnam Journalists Association continues to promote its glorious tradition, constantly innovate, enhance its role and position, and is worthy of being a trusted political - social - professional organization - the "common home" of journalists nationwide".

The press must also strive to change and accompany the country.

Affirming the important role of the Vietnam Journalists Association in 75 years of accompanying the revolution, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Phan Xuan Thuy emphasized the need for strong innovation in the digital age and called for continuing to enhance the position of revolutionary journalism, towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

"In this important period, when the country is facing a historic opportunity to make a breakthrough, the press must also strive to change and accompany the country. The press in the new era must be creative and innovate strongly to meet the needs of the public, keep up with the development of the times, and the country's digital transformation," Mr. Thuy emphasized.

In the coming time, Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy suggested that the Vietnam Journalists Association should continue to be the core force in proposing mechanisms and policies for press development, enhancing training and fostering a team of professional, humane and modern journalists; at the same time, organizing practical and meaningful activities towards the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press.

Regarding the activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press, the Vietnam Journalists Association, all levels of the Association, and press agencies need to consider this a broad political activity, a premise for the Vietnamese press to build a new vision, a new look to meet the people's demands and serve the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

On this occasion, the Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department also sent words of encouragement and sympathy to many press agencies that have merged, consolidated, and ended their functions and tasks; many journalists have lost their jobs, transferred jobs; and are worried and anxious when working in a new environment and new conditions....
