Information on the Kremlin's official website (Kremlin.ru) confirmed that President Putin has arrived in Hanoi, starting a state visit to Vietnam. The two-day visit took place at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Regarding this important event, RIA Novosti news agency quoted Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi as saying: The visit gives both sides the opportunity to sign and implement new cooperation agreements, creating momentum for the development of bilateral relations. These agreements not only bring economic benefits but also strengthen the political and strategic relationship between the two countries.

In particular, in the context of the complex international situation, close cooperation between Vietnam and Russia becomes more important than ever. Long-term goals and specific action plans will be identified to ensure sustainable and effective development of bilateral relations in the future.

President Putin’s visit to Vietnam is also a strong signal of mutual respect between the two countries. This is a clear manifestation of friendship and solidarity, contributing to strengthening the position of both countries in the international arena for the common interests of the two peoples and peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region as well as around the world, ” said Venerable Master Dang Minh Khoi.

Meanwhile, CNA Singapore wrote, Vietnam continues to maintain a deep relationship with Russia based on its historical relationship with the Soviet Union, after the support from the Soviet Union and Russia played an important part in Vietnam's history of struggle and nation building.
