The victory of April 30, 1975 was a remarkable milestone in the history of the Vietnamese people, marking the end of the resistance war against the US and the reunification of the country under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
This is the opinion of researcher Uch Leang - Acting Director of the Department of Asian-African and Middle Eastern Studies, Cambodian Institute of International Relations under the Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC), President of the Association of Cambodian Alumni who studied in Vietnam (CAVA) - in an article published on April 21 in Cambodia's Khmer Times newspaper, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification of Vietnam (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
According to a VNA reporter in Phnom Penh, scholar Uch Leang emphasized that after 50 years of national reunification, Vietnam has achieved many important achievements in all fields.

The RAC researcher also provided many examples, comments and analyses on the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship from 1975 to the present. In particular, he emphasized that the strong relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia not only helps the two countries develop but also contributes to the stability and prosperity of the region, strengthening ASEAN solidarity in the context of a volatile region and the world.
From that perspective, researcher Uch Leang expressed his belief that the achievements over the past 50 years will be a solid foundation for Vietnam to enter a new era - the era of national development, aiming to become a high-income country by 2045, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world, as well as promoting the increasingly developing Vietnam-Cambodia relationship./.
