With 4.6/5 points, Vietnamese banh mi ranked first in the list of 100 best sandwiches in the world in 2024 ("Top100 sandwiches in the world") voted by the world-famous culinary website TasteAtlas on March 15.

According to   TasteAtlas, Banh mi (pronounced 'bun mee') is a very popular Vietnamese dish with the same main ingredient, baguette, imported from the French.

In March 2020, Google honored banh mi on the homepage of this search engine in more than 10 countries.

The word "Banh mi" has also been included in many world-famous dictionaries such as Oxford, Cambridge, Merriam-Webster... Oxford Learners' Dictionaries defines Banh mi as "A Vietnamese-style baguette filled with cold cuts, pate and vegetables".
