A group of young men from Ninh Thuan province with many criminal records rented a house in Binh Duong province and went to Ho Chi Minh City at dawn to find vulnerable houses to break in and steal.
On March 30, Go Vap District Police (HCMC) are criminally detaining Duong Tan Hoc (born in 2000), Quang Van Lum (born in 1993), Nguyen Ngoc Binh (born in 1995), Van Van Hac Quyen (born in 2002), Xam Van Quy (born in 1999, all residing in Ninh Thuan province) to investigate the act of "Theft of property".
Previously, on the evening of March 22, Ms. NCKD (born in 1995, residing in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City) left her house on Nguyen Tu Gian Street to go to work. Early the next morning, when she returned from work, she discovered that some of her belongings including rings, necklaces, and watches worth more than 100 million VND were missing, so she reported it to the police.
Through investigation, the police identified the group of criminals as: Hoc, Lum, Binh, Quyen, Quy. This group had many criminal records, rented a place to live in Binh Duong province and often gathered to eat and drink.
On the afternoon of March 28, the police raided a house on Street No. 1 (Di An Ward, Di An City, Binh Duong Province) and arrested the suspects. Through the struggle, the group confessed to committing the robbery at Ms. D.'s house.
Specifically, in the early morning of March 23, Hoc drove Binh from Binh Duong province to Nguyen Tu Gian street. After that, Binh broke into Ms. D's house and stole 2 bracelets, 2 necklaces, 2 rings, and a watch. After that, both of them sold them for 45 million VND and divided them among themselves.
In addition to the above theft, the suspects confessed to having committed at least 6 burglaries to steal various properties from March 10 until their arrest. Due to lack of money and no jobs, they formed a group to rent a house to steal.
Police suspect the group caused a series of other thefts and are expanding the investigation.
