DNVN - British filmmaker Simon Holland has just announced that scientists have discovered signs of "non-human intelligence in the galaxy", and this evidence will be published within the next month.
In an interview with the Daily Mail (UK), Mr. Holland – who has participated in many documentaries as part of the NASA-funded asteroid tracking project – revealed the five-hour radio burst, which was initially detected by telescopes on Earth five years ago.
According to Mr. Holland, this signal is being reviewed by a research team at Oxford University, within the framework of the Breakthrough Listen initiative - a $100 million project led by Russian-Israeli physicist Yuri Milner. This project is to search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI).
“They are looking for details, so the release process has been delayed,” said Mr Holland, adding that the radio signal was very weak, leading to “technical hurdles” for scientists.
In 2019, an Australian telescope detected a “strange signal” while observing the Proxima Centauri star system, the nearest star to our solar system, about 4.2 light years away. The signal, named Breakthrough Listen Candidate-1 (BLC-1), was initially thought to be coming from another planet, and scientists hoped it was a sign of life.
By 2021, researchers at the University of Berkeley theorized that the signal was likely a "spurious signal," caused by the combination of two different transmitters on Earth, and insisted it had nothing to do with aliens.
However, according to Breakthrough Listen sources cited by Mr. Holland, compelling new evidence has emerged that suggests the signal may actually originate from an advanced alien civilization.
This theory is supported by a senior manager in the EU radio telescope sector, according to Mr. Holland. The research team at Oxford also confirmed that they were analyzing the signal, but did not reveal the specific reason.
“We have detected non-human alien intelligence in our galaxy and the world doesn't know it yet,” Mr. Holland asserted.
He also said the Breakthrough team is working to publicize the discovery before Chinese scientists, who detected the alien signal in 2022, could soon make the shocking discovery public.
