Mr. Do Quang Ba said that at 8:00 a.m. on December 10, 2023, the first matches will take place simultaneously on 8 artificial turf fields (Red Urawa Club's training ground) - Saitama City, Japan. Each match will only last 30 minutes. Each half is 15 minutes and the break between matches is 5 minutes.

"From 8:00 to 8:40 is the end of the first round of matches. However, Dung plays for FC Sun Shine, this match from 8:40 is the first match of FC Sun Shine against FC Nghe Tinh Okayama. The first half lasted for 5 minutes, at that time FC Sun Shine was leading by 1-0. In a situation where FC Nghe Tinh Okayama ran out of balls, when the two teams were retreating for the goalkeeper to kick the ball up, player Tran Ngoc Dung turned his head towards his team's goal and suddenly fell down, without colliding with anyone," Mr. Do Quang Ba, who was also present on the field, witnessed the whole incident, told Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter.

"At that moment, Tran Ngoc Dung was given first aid by some other players in the team, such as putting another player's hand in Dung's mouth to avoid biting his tongue, and giving artificial respiration... Dung's face also turned purple. However, the player was still breathing and had a normal pulse. At that moment, the organizers called an ambulance and after about 10 minutes, the ambulance arrived and took Dung to the hospital. Sun Shine Company also sent someone to go with Dung to the hospital and continuously updated the organizers. Dung is currently being cared for at Saitama Red Cross Hospital," confirmed Mr. Do Quang Ba, a person working for a medical-related company in Japan.

According to Mr. Do Quang Ba, the match between FC Sun Shine and FC Nghe Tinh Okayama continued as usual. That whole day, apart from the incident with the former SLNA player, there were no other significant incidents in the final round.

According to information from the hospital and Sun Shine Company, Dung fainted on the field possibly due to heat shock, the difference in weather temperature, and possibly fatigue from the day before. Tran Ngoc Dung had just arrived in Japan the day before and was playing the next day.

"The weather in Japan is very cold. The sudden change in weather, the 2-hour time difference, and the lack of sleep before... could also be the cause. The doctor did not conclude that Dung had a stroke. Since being admitted to the hospital, Dung has been breathing normally, but has just lost strength and is very tired, so he has to stay in the hospital for monitoring and recovery. According to the latest information, Dung only has to stay in the hospital for one or two more days," Mr. Do Quang Ba told Thanh Nien Newspaper.

Player Tran Ngoc Dung was born in 2003, was the captain of SLNA U.19 and U.21 teams participating in the national U.19 and U.21 tournaments. He grew up from SLNA youth training center, playing in the left-back position.

Mr. Do Quang Ba is the person who wrote the invitation letter and sponsored player Tran Ngoc Dung, former SLNA player and 2 other young players from Vietnam to go to Japan to participate in the final round of the 2023 tournament.

FAVIJA Champions Cup 2023 is organized by the Vietnam - Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA). The final round takes place on December 10, with the participation of 32 teams with the highest rankings in 7 regional football tournaments across Japan - held from February to the end of November in 2023. In the end, FC Sun Shine is the runner-up.
