- Record high number of newly established businesses

Data from the Department of Business Registration Management (Ministry of Planning and Investment) shows that the number of newly registered enterprises in 2023 reached 159,294, an increase of 7.2% over the same period in 2022. This is the first time it has reached a record high of nearly 160,000 enterprises. The number of newly established enterprises in 2023 is 1.2 times higher than the average level in the period 2017-2022 and increased by 4.6% compared to the estimated implementation for the whole year of 2023. In the fourth quarter of 2023 alone, there were more than 41,000 newly registered enterprises, an increase of 20.2% over the same period in 2022 (according to VTV).

In 2023, the Ministry of Finance exempted, reduced, and extended taxes, fees, charges, and land rents for businesses and people by about VND193.4 trillion. Bank interest rates on December 27 recorded that banks in the Big 4 group reduced interest rates 3 times in one month, although interest rates seemed to have hit rock bottom. The race to reduce interest rates among the "big four" group seems to have not come to an end.
