Provincial Economic Zone Management Board deploys tasks for 2025

The Provincial Economic Zone Management Board has just held a conference to summarize the work in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025. Comrade Hoang Van Thach, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and directed the conference.

In 2024, the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board will do a good job of advising on the implementation of the breakthrough task of developing the border gate economy and the Master Plan for developing the border gate economic zone of Cao Bang province; managing 10 projects with a total capital plan of 34.39 billion VND; disbursement as of December 31, 2024 reached over 24.6 billion VND, reaching 71.5%. The total import and export turnover of goods through border gates in the province increased by 29% over the same period in 2023, reaching 132% of the planned target. Tax collection and other revenues from import and export activities of goods were 926.67 billion VND, up 23% over the same period in 2023, reaching 154% of the target assigned by the Provincial People's Committee. Fees for using infrastructure works and public utilities in the border gate area collected 13 billion VND, down 19% compared to the same period in 2023.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Van Thach acknowledged and commended the results achieved by the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board. He requested the Board to continue to closely follow the functions, tasks, socio-economic development plans and annual budget estimates of the province, strengthen leadership and direction of responsible units to accelerate the implementation of targets and breakthrough tasks for economic development of Cao Bang province's border gates in Plan No. 10 of the Steering Committee; accelerate the construction of the 1/2000 scale construction zoning plan for border gate areas and openings in the economic zone; strengthen strict management of border gate economic activities, accelerate the investment progress of border gate infrastructure investment projects; develop programs, plans and implement investment promotion activities, creating an equal, open and attractive competitive environment to attract strategic investment projects. Preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and units to accelerate the progress of developing the Project "Piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of the economic zone of Cao Bang province", ensuring specificity, feasibility, quality, efficiency, in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister and current regulations to create breakthroughs to promote socio-economic development; promptly advise and report to the Provincial People's Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on matters within their authority.
