Discussing plans to connect Quang Nam to the "Central Heritage Train"

Attending the meeting were representatives of the Vietnam Railway Corporation, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and many travel and tourism businesses in the province.

According to Vietnam Railways Corporation, the plan to run a train connecting the "Central Heritage Train" between Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam will contribute to increasing the number of tourists to Quang Nam, creating favorable conditions for domestic and international visitors to and from Quang Nam by rail, contributing to strengthening the cooperative relationship and mutual support between Vietnam Railways Corporation and the tourism industry of Quang Nam province.

At the same time, connect and promote regional linkages and linkages between localities: Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam, forming tourism products and product chains; strengthen linkages and cooperation in developing railway tourism products and services, contributing to the recovery and strong development of tourism.

Vietnam Railways Corporation will operate the entire train with the support of Quang Nam province to ensure effective implementation; at Tra Kieu and Tam Ky stations managed and operated by Vietnam Railways Corporation, in coordination with local authorities to ensure safety/service, improve image and synchronize with the quality of the entire tourist train to create the most convenience for passengers.

The trial period is determined by Vietnam Railways Corporation based on the evaluation of the unit's business performance. In the next phase, interested travel companies are invited to participate in operating the train and improving the quality of the train.

The leaders of Vietnam Railways Corporation stated that with the efforts of relevant parties, it is expected that in 2024, the expansion of the "Central Heritage Train" from Da Nang Station to Tra Kieu Station will be tested. The progress of the operation time depends largely on the strong participation of the government and tourism businesses in Quang Nam.

The Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line through Quang Nam province is 91.5km long, including 8 stations: Nong Son, Tra Kieu, Phu Cang, Tam Thanh, An My, Tam Ky, Diem Pho, Nui Thanh. Of which, 3 stations have passenger pick-up and drop-off services: Tra Kieu, Tam Ky and Nui Thanh. The distance from Tra Kieu station (Duy Xuyen) to Hoi An city is nearly 20km and from Tra Kieu station to My Son temple complex is about 23km.

On this occasion, local tourism businesses raised many opinions and contributed solutions so that the Da Nang - Tra Kieu tourist railway, once put into operation, will create efficiency and attract the response of tourists.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the expansion of the "Central Heritage Train" running between Hue - Da Nang, first to Tra Kieu Station (Duy Xuyen) to spread to tourist destinations near the station such as Hoi An, My Son has many prospects and assigned relevant units to soon promote and work with the Vietnam Railway Corporation to finalize a feasible plan before reporting to competent authorities for decision.

At the same time, the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested the Vietnam Railway Corporation to soon research and promote the train route connecting the Central heritage region with Ninh Binh to diversify railway tourism experiences, associated with heritage regions.
