In June 2014, Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage based on three outstanding criteria: outstanding global cultural values; aesthetic values; outstanding global values of geology and geomorphology. Over the past 10 years, Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex has become a model highly appreciated by UNESCO for the harmony between conservation and development at a World Heritage Site.
Tomorrow (April 17), the 1,100th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and the opening of the Hoa Lu Festival 2024 will be held in Ninh Binh. This is one of the largest traditional festivals of the province, contributing to arousing the tradition of patriotism, national pride and self-esteem and promoting the unique cultural features and famous landscapes of Ninh Binh.
In addition to the 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage (April 26), many cultural and tourism activities and events were also held in Ninh Binh on this occasion. The highlight was a 15-minute mid-range fireworks display in Hoa Lu ancient town (Ninh Binh city), after the "Brilliant Hoa Lu" art program on the evening of April 30.
Ms. Tran Thi Diep Anh - Executive Director of Hoa Lu Ancient Town said: "The program "Ruc ro Hoa Lu" is part of a series of events celebrating the 10th anniversary of Trang An being recognized as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage. The music night features many famous artists, combining many modern technologies with the festival space "on the wharf, under the boat" - a typical example of the Trang An river area. We believe that through this activity, Ninh Binh's night tourism products will increasingly spread, develop and be more widely known to tourists".
Previously, on April 25, the Archaeological Exhibition Space on the cultural values of Ninh Binh province and Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex; along with images of 9 world heritage sites in Vietnam will be launched in Hoa Lu ancient town. The international scientific conference with the theme "Promoting the role and value of the world cultural and natural heritage of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in building a Millennium Heritage City and connecting world heritage cities" was held on April 27 at Hoang Son Hotel, Ninh Binh city.
Trang An Festival (the death anniversary of Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong) was held on April 26 at Trang An eco-tourism area. This is a series of cultural and tourism activities associated with the worship of mountain gods in Hoa Lu Tu Tran and the worship of nature of Vietnamese people living in the world heritage complex of Trang An, Ninh Binh.
There will also be cycling activities for the green environment on the Trang An - Bai Dinh route (April 27); a music exchange program (MAY Show - Weaving a Little Worship) at Khe Coc Island Tourist Area (April 27 and 30); the "Heritage Imprint 2024" running race on the Trang An - Bai Dinh route (April 28)... Ninh Binh Tourism Week "The Golden Color of Tam Coc - Trang An" is expected to take place from May 25 to June 1, 2024, on the occasion when Tam Coc rice fields gradually turn yellow, creating a beautiful landscape.
The songwriting and literary works contest about Ninh Binh province and Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex will be held from April 2024 to September 2024. The design contest for Ninh Binh province's special gifts associated with heritage values and cultural and historical values of relics in the heritage site will be held from May 2024 to December 2024. The journalism contest on the topic of preserving and promoting the values of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and developing sustainable tourism will be held from April 2024 to September 2024.
