The Resistance Liaison Committee of Son Long commune (old) held a traditional meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of liberation.

Attending the meeting were leaders of Que Son district and more than 250 cadres, guerrillas, and resistance fighters from Son Long commune (old).

Son Long Commune (old) has 3 villages: An Long, Thuan Long and Chau Son, now belongs to 2 communes: Que Phong and Que An (Que Son district). During the years of resistance war against the US to save the country, Son Long land was occupied by the enemy, fiercely attacked, suffered many bombs and even Agent Orange/dioxin.

But with the tradition of loyalty and resilience, the cadres and guerrillas of Son Long commune stuck with the enemy day and night, protecting every inch of land, protecting the people to feel secure in producing food to contribute to the revolution. At the same time, they coordinated with the main army units and local troops to achieve resounding victories such as the battle of Go Dau, the battle of Ba Trung field, the battle of Van Thanh, the battle of Da Dung...

Cadres, guerrillas, and families who stayed and participated in the resistance in Son Long commune also organized many political struggles, demanding that the enemy not conscript soldiers or fire artillery into the liberated areas.

With the determination to follow the revolution "not an inch away, not a millimeter away" and their great contributions and sacrifices, the cadres and people of Son Long commune were awarded a flag with 8 golden words "Resiliently hold on to the movement" by the Central Committee of the Central Central Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Returning to peacetime, cadres, guerrillas and resistance fighters in Son Long commune always set an example, promoted solidarity, and contributed their intelligence to build their homeland to become more and more prosperous.
