International friendship melodies to welcome the new year 2025
On January 16, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) organized the International Art Exchange program “Welcome New Year 2025”. The program aims to strengthen the friendship between the Vietnamese people and people of other countries on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025. |

Attending the program were Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission; Mr. Pham Tat Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization; Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese; Mr. Phan Anh Son, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.
The program also had the participation of representatives from the embassies of Palestine, Cuba, Laos, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc., international organizations, non-governmental organizations and foreign students working and studying in Hanoi.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ky, Chairman of HAUFO, said that 2024 is a successful year in the capital's foreign affairs. Many exchange and friendship activities have been organized, opening up cooperation directions in the fields of economics, politics, culture and society, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in the international arena. These achievements cannot be mentioned without the great support and assistance of international friends.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ky, the International Art Exchange program “Welcome to the New Year 2025” is like a wish for good health, happiness and success to the delegates and their families. He hopes that during the days in Vietnam, especially during the Lunar New Year of At Ty, foreign friends will also feel like they are in their homeland.
The program's organizers said that the performances were elaborately and uniquely staged by Vietnamese artists and actors, reflecting the tradition of Thang Long culture and the rise of thousand-year-old Hanoi.
The performance of the Ao Dai collection "Contemporary Spring Colors" affirms the beauty of the Ao Dai like a bridge of soft silk, connecting traditional and modern values, ancient and modern art of Vietnam .
Along with that are rich and colorful performances by non-professional artists from foreign embassies in Vietnam. Mr. Saadi Salama, Ambassador of the State of Palestine, Head of the Diplomatic Corps in Vietnam highly appreciated the cooperation between HAUFO and the Diplomatic Corps in 2024. HAUFO has truly become a bridge of friendship connecting the people of Hanoi with international friends.
“The companionship, support, hospitality and sincere friendship that HAUFO leaders and staff have given to diplomats and international friends have made me and many members of the Diplomatic Corps increasingly attached to and love Vietnam as our own homeland. We are always ready to strengthen cooperation with HAUFO, as well as encourage international friends to participate in people-to-people diplomacy activities. Thereby, spreading Hanoi's messages of friendship and peace,” said Ambassador Saadi Salama.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, Mr. Saadi Salama and representatives of embassies in Vietnam sent New Year greetings in their respective languages to the people of the capital as well as the people of Vietnam for a new year with many wishes, prosperity, fulfillment and well-being.
