Issue solutions to develop Vietnam's cultural industries

The Copyright Office (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) recently held a meeting on organizing the National Conference on developing Vietnam's cultural industries.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Hoang - Director of the Copyright Office said that the National Conference on the development of Vietnam's cultural industries is expected to be held in December 2023, chaired by the Prime Minister .

The conference aims to evaluate the results of implementing the goals and tasks set out in the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's Cultural Industries (Decision No. 1755/QD-TTg).

The conference also identified directions, goals, and tasks for developing cultural industries in the coming time, especially from now to 2030.

In particular, focusing on supporting the production of products and services that Vietnam has the potential to develop strongly, bearing many Vietnamese values, and capable of promoting Vietnamese culture to the world ; Issuing solutions to develop cultural industries, focusing on supplementing specific mechanisms and policies suitable to the new situation to promote development...

Currently, the preparation work is being carried out seriously, urgently, and with quality assurance. At the meeting, delegates gave their opinions on the program, operating script, discussion reports, etc.

Delegates assessed that in general, the draft report of the center had an overview of the results of implementing the strategy for developing cultural industries. However, the draft still needs to be studied and further improved in the direction of closely following the Strategy for developing cultural industries.

Delegates hope that the conference will highlight the importance of developing cultural industries in the context of the country's deep integration; as well as propose solutions to develop cultural industries, increase the contribution of cultural industries to GDP and socio -economic development.

Previously, the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's Cultural Industries to 2020, with a Vision to 2030, emphasized: Cultural industries are an important component of the national economy. The State will create all conditions to maximize the attraction of social resources to develop cultural industries; maximize the economic factors of cultural values; and at the same time, link the development of cultural industries with the promotion of the image of the country and Vietnamese people...

The conclusion of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the 2021 National Cultural Conference once again emphasized the importance of developing cultural industries in building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity. Therefore, delegates suggested that the Conference should include contents that closely follow the development orientation of Vietnam's cultural industries...

The conference is expected to boost the development of cultural industries even more strongly, thereby contributing more to the country's socio-economy.
