On January 21, in Tu Xa commune, Lam Thao district, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Lam Thao district coordinated with local authorities to organize the handover of 22 breeding cows to poor and near-poor households in Tu Xa and Vinh Lai communes.

Participating in the project, each household receives a breeding cow of the Zebu crossbred breed, aged 12-18 months, weighing 200-220kg or more, fully vaccinated. Before receiving the breeding cow, households are instructed by the specialist staff of the breeding unit on breeding techniques, how to build barns, and how to treat some common diseases.
The total cost of the project is nearly 1 billion VND. Of which, more than 565 million VND is supported by the "National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021 - 2025 period" to buy breeding animals, the rest is contributed by participating households with barns, food and care.
This is one of the practical solutions to effectively implement the goal of sustainable poverty reduction and improve the quality of life for people in Lam Thao district.
The handover of breeding cows not only creates conditions for poor and near-poor households to develop livestock farming but also contributes to promoting the local economy and improving people's lives. Through the project, participating households have more means of production, develop sustainable economy, gradually escape poverty, strive to stabilize their lives, contributing to the success of Project 2 - Diversifying livelihoods, developing poverty reduction models, under the "National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Phase 2021 - 2025".
