Discussing solutions to build a sustainable production and consumption ecosystem for dragon fruit

BTO-This afternoon (June 26), Binh Thuan Cooperative Alliance held a conference to deploy pilot solutions for "Building a sustainable production and consumption ecosystem for Binh Thuan dragon fruit". Attending were Ms. Pham Thi Hong Yen - Standing Member of the National Assembly Economic Committee, National Assembly Delegate of Binh Thuan province, leaders of relevant departments, branches, organizations and Ham Thuan Bac District People's Committee.

Also attending were organizations, businesses leading and orienting the output of the domestic and export markets and cooperatives in Ham Thuan Bac district.

At the conference, delegates discussed the conditions and factors to ensure the sustainability and feasibility of the solutions. These included identifying sponsored products and controlling production according to clean standards of the ecosystem, such as: packaging each fruit in a “breathing” bag - made from environmentally friendly rice flour, helping to preserve freshness longer; products are labeled with the ecosystem’s stamp, etc.

Regarding the goal of developing sustainable consumption to enhance the image of clean dragon fruit to customers; aiming for a professionalized export market...

*National Assembly Delegate Pham Thi Hong Yen expressed her opinion.*

According to National Assembly Delegate Pham Thi Hong Yen, the project was born from the wishes of voters from the meetings, along with the attention of National Assembly delegates. Thereby, hoping that the ecosystem project will contribute to changing people's awareness in production, contributing to solving the problem of agricultural product consumption, hoping that people will participate in the project.

The Binh Thuan Cooperative Alliance said that this conference was held to continue implementing solutions in the pilot project to build a sustainable production and consumption ecosystem for Binh Thuan dragon fruit in Ma Lam town, Ham Thuan Bac district. In addition, it is expected to find solutions to ensure sustainable production of dragon fruit in terms of quality, ensuring organic agricultural ecological standards; VietGAP, GlobalGAP and solutions to ensure sustainable consumption and sustainable output of dragon fruit in the domestic and export markets, creating livelihoods for dragon fruit farmers.
