Discussing solutions for arranging industrial zones and clusters when implementing the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project

The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project has a total main line length of 390.9 km, of which about 65 km passes through Lao Cai province. The whole province has 91 industrial production facilities and industrial clusters affected.

Specifically, Dong Pho Moi Industrial Park and Dong Pho Moi Industrial Cluster, Son Man - Van Hoa Industrial Cluster (Lao Cai city) are located within the scope of Lao Cai international transit station with a planned scale of site clearance of about more than 100 hectares.

Plan to arrange and move 31 projects in Dong Pho Moi Industrial Park.

1. Dong Pho Moi Industrial Park with a planned scale of 89 hectares; a total of 41 projects are being implemented, operating stably, 1 project is under construction.

2. Dong Pho Moi Industrial Cluster with a planned scale of 3.5 hectares; a total of 16 establishments are operating in the following industries: forest product processing, civil carpentry production, mechanical repair and processing...

3. Son Man - Van Hoa Industrial Park with a planned scale of 7.5 hectares; a total of 34 production facilities operating in the following industries: auto repair, civil carpentry production, mechanical processing repair...

On March 12, 2025, Lao Cai City People's Committee coordinated with the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to announce the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project and proposed relocation plan for 91 production facilities operating in affected industrial parks and clusters.

Head of the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, Vuong Trinh Quoc, gave his opinion on the plan and arrangement of import-export units.

The projects will be moved to new industrial parks and clusters within the province's planning with a total area of ​​about 130 hectares. The Provincial People's Committee has approved the investment policy and assigned the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board to be the investor of projects serving the site clearance of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway Construction Investment Project.
