New solutions to develop the aviation and tourism industry sustainably

Speaking at the workshop, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said that according to economic experts, tourism and aviation are like wings that contribute to economic development. Aviation has many advantages and is considered a launching pad for the tourism industry, attracting investment, trade and international relations. The aviation industry grows, promoting tourism and is an opportunity for passengers to explore new destinations.

In turn, tourism plays a role in promoting the development of aviation, creating demand and services, contributing to economic development, creating opportunities for innovation and improvement.

"Currently, cooperation between tourism and aviation is mainly done by the National Tourism Administration, airlines, localities, and travel companies themselves. This cooperation is still small-scale, incidental, and there is no mechanism for coordination and cooperation on a large scale," said comrade Le Quoc Minh.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport, said that in the context of many difficulties, the number of aircraft decreased, as well as the need to balance exploitation to meet travel needs, in general, the exploitation of the aviation market recorded growth in passenger transport, especially international air transport. This is a result that encourages trade connection, bringing international tourists to Vietnam.

“The workshop is an important forum for management agencies, aviation and tourism businesses, individuals and interested units to share information and exchange opinions related to building and developing a bridge between aviation and tourism, improving the efficiency of connections between industries, promoting the achieved results, working together and sharing towards sustainable and long-term development,” said Minister Nguyen Van Thang.

The workshop consisted of two main contents: The paradox of rising airfares, airlines and travel companies still facing difficulties. And a discussion session on practical and effective cooperation initiatives between localities, aviation and tourism businesses. Harmonious development of means of transport in tourism activities and recommendations to the Government for support solutions.

At the workshop, delegates analyzed the current development status of the aviation and tourism industries, proposed practical and effective cooperation initiatives, and recommended new solutions to the Government. State management agencies, aviation enterprises, travel businesses, and localities proposed feasible solutions to recommend to relevant agencies, as well as called for the initiative of relevant parties to find long-term solutions to remove difficulties for the aviation and tourism industries.

At the workshop, Vietnam Airlines, Da Nang City and Khanh Hoa Province signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation.
