On the afternoon of November 11, in Buon Ma Thuot city, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province in coordination with the Department of Tourism of Hanoi and the Department of Tourism of Ninh Binh province organized a meeting between travel businesses of the three localities.
Attending the conference were leaders of the Department, Tourism Association, representatives of specialized departments and divisions of the Department and travel businesses of 3 localities.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Van Tam, Chairman of Dak Lak Tourism Association, said that although there have been many difficulties recently, the overall growth rate of Dak Lak tourism industry is still optimistic. However, the majority of tourists are local people coming to have fun and entertainment at existing tourist areas/spots; while the number of tourists from other provinces booking tours to Dak Lak is very low.
One of the reasons given is that the high price of air tickets has affected the price of tours, making them no longer attractive to tourists.
Dak Lak province has an area of over 13,000 km2 and over 2.1 million people, of which a large number are from Ninh Binh. This is a potential area for tourism businesses to exploit.
At the conference, representatives of tourism associations and travel companies discussed many contents related to Ninh Binh - Hanoi - Dak Lak tours.
For the tourism market, Ninh Binh is a favorite destination for people in the Central Highlands. Hopefully, after this conference, Dak Lak tourism units will be able to access and promote tours to Ninh Binh and Dak Lak in the near future.
Ninh Binh and Dak Lak provinces have many connections with each other, but the number of visitors traveling between the two localities is not as much as expected. The cause of the difficulty comes from traffic and means of transportation, so it is recommended that there should be changes in communication to tourists about promotional discount programs so that tourists can easily access information when Hanoi - Ninh Binh has discounted tours for visitors. Therefore, it is recommended that there may be incentives for Dak Lak travel companies when coming to Ninh Binh.
Addressing the difficulty of expensive flights, travel management companies need to join together to create a retail block of all land tours (tours that combine travel companies with tourist destinations) to provide the best package services to customers. Currently, the high-spending customer segment will not be affected by high airfares, and if localities cooperate to improve the quality of destinations, they will attract tourists.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Bui Van Manh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism said: Tourism businesses in Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Dak Lak need to be determined in building their image through in-depth and synchronous tourism products to bring satisfaction to customers, becoming a truly attractive destination.
Regarding the main difficulties of means of transport and ticket prices, in the coming time, tourism management agencies will also soon make recommendations to airlines and state management agencies to resolve them.
At the conference, delegates agreed that after this conference, travel businesses and local tourism associations will realize the proposals discussed at the conference and actively promote tourism products to affiliated localities.
* On this occasion, the working delegation of Ninh Binh province visited and surveyed some famous tourist attractions of Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces.
The delegation visited the national historical and cultural relic of T'Nung Lake - a key tourist destination of Gia Lai province. This place is considered a jade gem in the middle of the majestic Central Highlands mountains and forests or "the eyes of Pleiku mountain town".
The delegation visited the hundred-year-old pine road - a famous check-in point that attracts tourists; experienced the journey to conquer the peak of Chu Dang Ya volcano, the oldest mountain in Gia Lai. Based on the survey program, the tourism industry and service businesses will develop a cooperation plan, linking tours and routes to bring attractive tourism products, exchanging visitors between the three provinces of Ninh Binh - Gia Lai - Dak Lak in the coming time.
This is one of the specific and practical activities to realize the inter-regional cooperation and promotion program, creating momentum for rapid and sustainable tourism growth.
