Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Coast Guard chaired the conference. Attending the conference on the side of Quang Nam province were Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission and the Standing Committee of the Nui Thanh District Party Committee.
Through reports and discussions at the conference, in the period of 2019 - 2024, the Party Committee and the Coast Guard Command have thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the directives and resolutions of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on strengthening and innovating mass mobilization work in the new situation. The Standing Committee of the Coast Guard Party Committee has signed with 28/28 coastal provinces and cities to implement the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen".
Specifically, it coordinated to organize 262 propaganda sessions for more than 171,700 cadres, party members, people, fishermen and students; directly propagated in localities for 10,415 vehicles/72,688 fishermen; combined the task of patrolling, inspecting and controlling at sea with propaganda.
Through the contest “I love my homeland’s sea and islands”, Coast Guard units have sponsored 58 disadvantaged students until they turn 18 in the stationed area; and presented more than 1,500 gifts to disadvantaged fishing families.
The Coast Guard regularly maintains 15-20 ships and boats to patrol, inspect, control, maintain law enforcement, protect security and sovereignty in the country's seas; and maintain 24/7 search and rescue duty. Over the past 5 years, the Coast Guard has mobilized 80 ships and boats to carry out tasks, successfully searching and rescuing 63 vessels and boats with 1,082 people.
At the conference, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Politics, and the Vietnam Coast Guard awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in coordinating the implementation of mass mobilization work "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen".
The Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee received a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of National Defense for its outstanding achievements in coordinating the implementation of mass mobilization work "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen".
