The Steering Committee for the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses held its third meeting.

The report at the meeting said that as of March 23, the whole province had 4,131 households with temporary and dilapidated houses that had started construction and repair, reaching 95%; 1,732 had completed construction and repair of new houses, including 498 newly built houses. The total disbursement cost of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses was nearly 73 billion VND, of which the state budget support cost was nearly 33 billion VND, and loans from the Bank for Social Policies was nearly 40 billion VND. In addition, the authorities of districts, towns and cities mobilized organizations, individuals and businesses to contribute to building and repairing houses for poor, near-poor, newly escaped poverty households, households with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs with a total amount of more than 18 billion VND, 524 tons of cement. The Provincial Military Command supported 800 working days and 89 vehicles to transport materials. The Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations at all levels have mobilized support for over 3,020 households with a budget of over 8 billion VND and supported 22,000 working days.

Currently, there are 196 households in the province that have not started construction or repair. From now until the end of March 2025, the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in districts, towns and cities will mobilize households to start construction and repair. The target is to complete the program by May 31.

Concluding the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung, Head of the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of all levels, sectors and localities in drastically implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, helping the poor, near-poor, people who have just escaped poverty, and families with meritorious services to the country to settle down. This is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Binh Dinh province and is also the responsibility of the Party Committee and the government to the people.

Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung gave a speech at the meeting.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested that from now until March 31, localities must basically start construction on all of the remaining nearly 200 houses. This is a political task that must be done with determination. After the meeting, members of the Steering Committee at the provincial, district and communal levels reviewed all specific cases, assigned clear and specific responsibilities, urged implementation and were responsible for the areas under their charge. The goal is to complete the program by May 31.

Comrade Ho Quoc Dung requested all levels and sectors to continue to inform and propagate the meaning and purpose of the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, mobilizing all resources to implement the program with the spirit that all levels, sectors, and socio-political organizations participate in the program.

Districts, towns and cities in the province closely follow the program implementation plan, proactively develop detailed plans for each commune and household, clearly understand difficulties, obstacles and construction progress to support and continue to mobilize social resources, mobilize workers to provide additional support for difficult cases, those who are not able to respond such as the elderly, the disabled, helping them have houses that meet standards.

Regarding the funding to support the elimination of simple, dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung assigned the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Finance to proactively advance funds to localities while waiting for the central budget to be allocated. For cases of youth volunteers with degraded, damaged houses, localities will review and finalize the list to continue to have support policies in the coming time./.
