Provincial Digital Transformation Steering Committee deploys tasks for 2024

On February 21, the Provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation (SCDT) held a meeting to assess the situation and results of implementing the 2023 digital transformation tasks and key tasks in 2024. Comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial SCDT, chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were comrades: Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In 2023, digital transformation work in the province was focused on and achieved important results; 13/19 targets were achieved and exceeded the set plan. Propaganda work, raising digital awareness and digital skills were focused on and implemented regularly and synchronously with many diverse and practical forms. Most agencies and units established a Digital Transformation Steering Committee and issued documents and implementation plans. Digitalization and construction of industry databases were focused on and promoted. The digitization of processes, strengthening the application of information technology and digital transformation in management and operation activities were focused on and resolutely implemented by Party committees, authorities and agencies and units in the province; the rate of administrative documents exchanged and processed in the network environment was increased, especially at the district and commune levels; online public services had many positive changes. The work of ensuring information security and safety has been well implemented; 100% of communes, wards, towns and villages/neighborhoods have established Community Digital Technology Teams. E-commerce activities continue to be strengthened. The digital citizen ecosystem has been gradually formed and developed. However, digital transformation work in the past year still has some shortcomings and limitations in information technology infrastructure, digital infrastructure, ensuring network information security, data security, digitizing records, documents, connecting and sharing data between state agencies...; e-commerce activities still have many limitations, not attracting many businesses and people to participate.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation, gave a speech at the meeting.

Concluding the meeting, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged the efforts of the Steering Committee, the Provincial Digital Transformation Board, the Party Committees, authorities and agencies and units in focusing on directing and resolutely implementing the digital transformation tasks and achieving important results in all aspects of work, especially in terms of awareness, skills, digital infrastructure, building industry databases... contributing to promoting socio-economic development, local defense and security. He pointed out a number of shortcomings and limitations and requested the Steering Committee, the Provincial Digital Transformation Board, Party Committees, authorities at all levels and agencies and units to continue to improve digital infrastructure, especially to overcome signal depressions; effectively exploit and share databases; prioritize the development of the digital economy. The Steering Committee and the Provincial Digital Transformation Board urgently develop a digital transformation plan for 2024; Agencies and units must establish a Steering Committee, issue a digital transformation plan, seriously carry out inspection, supervision, and reporting on implementation results, have digital transformation products and solutions; strengthen internal connectivity; exploit shared databases well; improve the quality of online public services; promote digitalization of economic sectors, e-commerce activities, and smart tourism; review mechanisms and policies to motivate human resource development, support digital transformation enterprises; seek support from partners and attract investment from society; train and foster human resources; improve digital awareness and digital skills for people.
