Provincial Judicial Reform Steering Committee deploys tasks for 2024

This afternoon, January 16, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Judicial Reform Nguyen Dang Quang chaired the meeting to deploy judicial reform tasks in 2024. In 2023, the Provincial Steering Committee for Criminal Justice led and directed judicial and judicial support agencies to effectively implement the contents and requirements of criminal justice according to the direction and orientation of the central government. Party committees and authorities at all levels paid attention to synchronously and comprehensively leading and directing criminal justice activities and continued to achieve positive results.

The trial work ensures the right person, the right crime, and the right law; the quality of litigation in court is increasingly improved. Judicial agencies have closely coordinated in investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments.

The work of propagating, disseminating legal education, and assisting in the judiciary has changed positively, many activities of propagating the law and providing legal assistance have been effectively implemented. The team of cadres, civil servants, and judicial positions has been gradually consolidated, improved, and their capacity and effectiveness have been enhanced.

Regarding the 2024 work program, the Provincial Steering Committee for Administrative Reform will advise the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to direct Party committees, party organizations, agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the central and provincial viewpoints and policies on administrative reform work.

The focus is on implementing Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW dated November 9, 2022 of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to build and perfect the socialist rule-of-law State of Vietnam in the new period.

Provincial judicial agencies, depending on their functions and tasks, continue to consolidate and improve their organization and apparatus; effectively carry out planning, training and recruiting staff, and fostering and improving professional and technical qualifications.

Based on the functions, tasks of the sector and assigned targets and tasks, the judicial agencies shall issue the 2024 CCTP work program and plan for implementation; strengthen coordination in investigation, prosecution, trial, execution of judgments, timely handling and resolution of serious and complicated cases and cases affecting political security, and mass and prolonged complaints.

Concluding the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang assigned the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee to incorporate the opinions at the meeting into the draft program of CCTP work in 2024 to advise the Steering Committee to complete and issue the program. He requested that the provincial judicial agencies coordinate more closely to effectively implement CCTP work in 2024.

At the same time, we should pay attention to legal education for people to minimize law violations. Especially now, drug crimes are happening painfully in the province, it is worth noting that the criminals are very young, so it is necessary to investigate the causes, collect statistics to have timely educational and prevention measures to minimize the consequences for families and society.

For drug criminals, after serving their prison sentences and returning to their localities, there should be plans to help and support their integration into the community and create livelihoods to help them not re-offend. It is recommended that central agencies continue to pay attention, allocate funding, invest, and support facilities and techniques for the province's judicial agencies to ensure that they meet the requirements of their assigned tasks.
