Accordingly, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Facebook that the country still "holds" the city of Bakhmut in the East.
"The enemy has not stopped its attack on Bakhmut. However, the Ukrainian defenders are bravely holding the city, repelling their numerous attacks," the statement said.
Regarding military aid to Ukraine, on April 3, according to Mr. Marcin Przydacz, head of the international policy department of the Polish President's Office, Warsaw transferred a number of MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine.
On March 30, Poland pledged to provide four MiG-29 aircraft to Ukraine, becoming the first NATO member state to do so.
Polish President Andrzej Duda said the planes - among more than 10 received from the former German Democratic Republic - would be delivered in the coming days.
Meanwhile, also on April 3, Polish President's Foreign Affairs Advisor Marcin Przydacz said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to visit Poland on April 5.
There has been no confirmation from Kiev about this information.
In other related news, on the same day, the German Ministry of Energy and Economy announced that German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck made an unannounced visit to Ukraine.
This is Mr. Habeck's first visit to the Eastern European country since the conflict with Russia broke out on February 24, 2022.
Spiegel magazine reported that the agenda of the visit was the reconstruction of Ukraine and cooperation in the energy sector.
A spokesman for the ministry confirmed that German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Energy and Economy Robert Habeck arrived in Kiev on the morning of April 3, but did not provide further details.
