How are 10th grade entrance exams in Hanoi graded?

The leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the department is organizing the grading of the 10th grade entrance exam papers of more than 105,000 candidates in the 10th grade entrance exam. The department has mobilized about 2,100 staff and teachers to participate in grading the exams.

Candidates in Hanoi are anxiously waiting for the results of the 10th grade entrance exam.

Previously, immediately after the candidates completed the exam, the entire exam was handed over to the exam board and the invigilator according to regulations and to ensure safety.

According to the plan, the committee marking essay and multiple-choice tests will mark the tests from now until June 23. According to regulations, during the marking period, the head of the marking committee must report the results to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training at 5 p.m. every day.

Previously, on April 13, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the official answers for the entrance exams for non-specialized 10th grade high schools. This is the basis for candidates to be able to predict the preliminary results of their test in the recent exam.

In the literature subject, this year's exam focused on the social discussion section. Many teachers commented that although the exam still followed a familiar structure, there was a "bright spot" in the social discussion section, which provided a wide, open space for candidates to freely express their personal opinions on the question: "Is it selfish if we do not live to meet the expectations of others?"

This is also considered a question with high classification ability because: "The line between an independent, autonomous lifestyle and a selfish, unintentional lifestyle is always very fragile - that is the gap for candidates with sharp thinking, rich social understanding, especially with a kind heart, who can express their own views, not be oriented, not follow "trends"...!".

According to regulations, in the exam storage rooms, multiple-choice exam grading rooms, and essay exam grading rooms, there are 24/7 surveillance cameras to ensure coverage of all activities in the room; the camera system must not be connected to the internet and must only be connected by wire to the display screen (if any); there must be a backup power supply to ensure continuous operation even when there is a power outage...

Each essay test is graded independently by two examiners, with some points to note: the first examiner, after finishing grading, only records the grade on the individual grading sheet; the second examiner grades the test, records the score for each corresponding idea and the total score for each sentence on the margin of the test paper; and simultaneously records the total score for each sentence on the grading sheet for the second examiner.

In addition to the above 2 rounds, the essay test must also be checked by a department independent of the examiners in the 2 rounds. The selection of the exam papers to be checked requires randomly selecting a number of already checked papers. The examiner only records the scores on the individual marking sheet, not on the candidate's exam...

In this year's 10th grade entrance exam, in some localities, there were errors in the matching and entering of scores, leading to incorrect test results; the test scores were only returned to the correct results after re-scoring. Therefore, this is also the stage where localities marking 10th grade entrance exams, including Hanoi, should pay special attention to the exam marking committee.

The 2024-2025 public high school entrance exam for grade 10 took place on June 8 and 9 with more than 105,000 candidates taking the exam. Candidates took three exams including literature, foreign language and math.

It is expected that the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the exam results no later than July 2; and announce the benchmark scores for entering grade 10 of each public high school between July 6 and 9.
