The sudden passing of the one-time beauty of Hong Kong cinema has left fans, friends and colleagues in mourning. In her final interview, Chau Hai My still appeared radiant and fresh.
Pioneer magazine staff revealed that the weather on the day of the photoshoot was very cold, but Chau Hai My still happily worked. The short-lived star did a fashion photoshoot with 4 different outfits.
The actress also shared about her career journey. She said that her biological father was the one who supported her in entering the entertainment industry. At the 1985 Miss Hong Kong pageant, Chau Hai My did not win the highest title. However, her sweet beauty with a bit of personality helped her catch the eye of producers and directors of TVB.
After attending TVB's acting training class, she had the opportunity to appear in the film The Yang Family , collaborating with Andy Lau, Tony Leung, Carina Lau, and Wong Yat-wah.
With her beautiful appearance and diverse acting style, Chau Hai My gradually became one of the leading actresses of TVB.
Chau Hai My's most famous role in her career was Chau Chi Nhuoc in the TV series The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber (1994). She was praised by the media as "the most beautiful Chau Chi Nhuoc on screen" for her perfect appearance, acting style and charisma.
Recalling the time of tireless work, Chau Hai My said that she devoted a lot to art. There were sprint periods, she worked without rest, staying up many nights.
"When I was working at TVB, I was very young. Therefore, staying up late or waking up early was not too difficult for me. I worked to the best of my ability," Chau Hai My recalled.
In the last ten years, she moved to mainland China to live and work. The female artist still acts in movies and participates in programs, but Chau Hai My has considered her choice.
The TVB beauty knows that she is no longer young, so she no longer works herself to the point of forgetting to eat or sleep. The actress is willing to refuse projects with harsh schedules.
When asked what she would have done if she had not pursued acting, the late star said she wanted to become an interior designer. In nearly 30 years of pursuing acting, Chau Hai My has played many different roles, from positive to negative. She once considered acting to be her life's purpose.

Chau Hai My's ex-husband - actor Lu Luong Vy - once revealed that the reason he and Chau Hai My broke up after 3 years of dating and 1 year of marriage was that the actress, born in 1966, loved her job too much.
While her ex-husband's family wanted her to stay home, have children, and take care of the family, Chau Hai My wanted to pursue her career and act in movies. The distance and different perspectives on life caused their marriage to fall apart.
After her first and only marriage, Chau Hai My decided to pursue a single lifestyle and not have children. The actress had many suitors but all relationships stopped at the level of love.
Chau Hai My's friends said that she was proposed to many times but firmly refused. The actress was ready to end the relationship as soon as the other person proposed.
Talking about not having children or getting married, Chau Hai My shared: "I am a person who loves freedom and does not want to be confined. Moreover, since I was 16 years old, I discovered that my platelet count was naturally lower than normal people, so having children is extremely risky for me.
Most of us go through the process of getting married and having children, but that's not the only choice. At my age, getting married won't allow me to have children. So I think there's no need to get married."

In her later years, she lived alone in a villa in the suburbs of Beijing (China) with her pets, including 3 dogs and 2 cats. She considered them as her children. Every day, she cleaned the house, played with her dogs, and took care of the garden. Occasionally, she attended events or worked as a fashion model.
The beautiful actress passed away suddenly and left behind an estate of about 17.5 million USD. Because she had no children, all of this property was transferred to her mother and siblings. However, Chau Hai My's siblings refused to receive this money, so the actress's assets were managed by her mother.
According to the family's wishes, Chau Hai My's funeral will be held privately. Relatives of the 6X generation star also hope that the audience will always remember Chau Hai My's famous and beautiful roles on screen instead of sad memories.
