Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's proud and encouraging speech to Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered a speech recognizing, praising, encouraging, motivating, and sending many messages to outstanding young faces as well as to union members and youth across the country.

On the evening of March 23, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund held the 2024 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award Ceremony, with the theme Glorious Mission.

This year 's Award Ceremony was honored to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of central ministries, branches , and the Central Youth Union Secretariat to present awards to outstanding young faces.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed: "In the exciting, joyful and vibrant atmosphere of Youth Month, we are very pleased to attend the award ceremony of the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces 2024; these are truly radiant faces of the country's outstanding young talents in all fields and represent Vietnamese Youth - the future owners of the country, with the mission of being the shock force, the pioneering force and the spirit of 'Vietnamese Youth is proud and firmly believes in the Party' to lead the country firmly into a new era - an era of strong, civilized and prosperous development of the Vietnamese people".

The Prime Minister added: "More than five centuries ago, the famous scholar Than Nhan Trung affirmed that 'Talents are the vital energy of the nation'. In the thousands of years of glorious history of building and defending the country of our people, every period has marked the great contributions of talented people, many of whom nurtured their minds, trained their wills, and built great ambitions from a young age. From the time of the Hung Kings who founded the country, to the heroic history of Saint Giong, Hai Ba Trung, Ba Trieu, Ly Thuong Kiet, Tran Hung Dao, Tran Quoc Toan, Nguyen Trai, Le Loi, Quang Trung, to the Ho Chi Minh era, in the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, young people have always been the vanguard force, taking the lead, not afraid of difficulties, hardships, sacrifices, ready to contribute their talents and intelligence, for the independence, freedom and eternal development of the nation, for the happiness and prosperity of the people.

President Ho Chi Minh always put his full trust in the youth. He affirmed that 'Youth are the future masters of the country'. With that spirit, our Party and State always attach special importance to the role of the youth and have many policies and guidelines, creating favorable conditions and encouraging the youth, young talents to be ready to pioneer in contributing to the cause of building and developing, protecting our beloved Fatherland.

I acknowledge and appreciate the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for its continuous efforts in concretizing the Party and State's policies and guidelines on youth development, discovering and nurturing young talents, and training high-quality human resources for our country.

In particular, the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award is an initiative with high spreading impact, of special significance, a noble reward of the Central Youth Union with the purpose of: Honoring typical young people with outstanding achievements in building and defending the Fatherland; Creating motivation to develop young talents and promoting emulation movements in studying, training, scientific research, labor, creativity... among young people; consolidating and developing the Youth Union, Association, and Team organizations; Attracting the attention of all levels, sectors and the whole society to the cause of education, nurturing and honoring the young generation of our country.

Over the past 29 years of the award, nearly 580 outstanding and promising young Vietnamese faces have been honored as shining examples and have had exceptionally outstanding achievements, making outstanding contributions in various fields to the country, leaving a strong mark on Vietnamese intelligence and talent, adding to the glorious history of the nation's culture and making their names on the world map.

The program also had a special meeting and conversation between two generations of Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces, Professor Tran Xuan Bach - Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face in 2016 and two Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces in 2024, Than The Cong - Gold Medalist of the International Physics Olympiad and Nguyen Huu Tien Hung - Gold Medalist of the International Chemistry Olympiad.

After being honored, Professor Tran Xuan Bach continued to have many research projects in the field of preventive medicine. Professor Tran Xuan Bach has just received the Global Healthcare Innovation Leadership Award 2025. Professor Tran Xuan Bach expressed special emotions when he was able to stand on stage again to honor the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award after 9 years.

Sharing his feelings, Nguyen Huu Tien Hung expressed his happiness and pride when being honored as the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face 2024. According to Nguyen Huu Tien Hung, the responsibility of young people is to always study, to develop themselves, to contribute to the development of the country, to help themselves always upgrade to adapt to the development of the world, to serve the country and the people.

Nguyen Huu Tien Hung said that studying is a difficult process with many challenges, but he will always strive to be worthy of the award, the trust of everyone, and contribute to the development of the country.

Than The Cong expressed his honor to become the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face of 2024. According to Than The Cong, learning is a journey of continuous improvement and effort. Lifelong learning is not just a slogan but a responsibility of young people, ready to face challenges to achieve goals.

The Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award is a noble award presented by the Central Youth Union, to honor outstanding young people under 35 years old, with outstanding achievements in many fields: Study, Scientific Research - Creativity, Labor and Production, Business - Startup, National Defense, Security and Order, Sports, Social Activities, Culture and Arts, and State Administrative Management.

In particular, on this occasion, the typical and promising Vietnamese Young Faces of 2024 will attend the program of the Prime Minister meeting and dialogue with young people in 2025 with the theme "Vietnamese youth pioneering the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation".
