Dismissal of Vice Chairman of Bao Lam District People's Committee due to land violations

(Dan Tri) - Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bao Lam District (Lam Dong), retired on September 1; in October, he was prosecuted by the police for land management violations.

On November 20, the People's Council of Bao Lam district, Lam Dong issued a resolution to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh from the position of Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee.

The reason for Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh's dismissal is because he was prosecuted by the Investigation Police Agency of Bao Lam District Police for violating regulations on land management.

It is known that the Standing Committee of Bao Lam District People's Council will submit to the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval of the dismissal results according to regulations.

Previously, Dan Tri reported that, regarding land violations at Minh Rong Tea Joint Stock Company, on September 16, Mr. Nguyen Ba Dong, former Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Bao Lam district and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, an officer of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Bao Lam district, were prosecuted and temporarily detained by the police for violating regulations on land management.

On October 24, Bao Lam District Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, former Vice Chairman of Bao Lam District (retired since September 1), for violating regulations on land management.

According to police investigation information, in 2018, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee decided to reclaim 60 hectares of land that Minh Rong Tea Joint Stock Company rented in Loc Thang town, Bao Lam district to hand over to local management.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Dong and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien then illegally advised authorities to issue decisions on land allocation and land use right certificates, infringing on state land funds and affecting local land management.
