Chapter 2 with the theme of Battle Songs includes songs about the period after the 1954 Geneva Agreement, when Vietnam was divided into two regions. The North advanced to build socialism, becoming a great rear base, providing human and material support to the South to continue the national democratic revolution, fighting to unify the country.
During those years, music was not only lyrics, but also the power to encourage soldiers to go to battle, the heroic song of patriotism. Songs resounded from the battlefield with melodies praising soldiers, about the love of the people in the rear, about the desire for peace such as Stepping on the Truong Son Range, On the Top of Truong Son We Sing, Your Love, My Homeland Quang Binh, Two Sisters - Bringing Rice to Mother Plowing, Hanoi Song... Those melodies are the echoes from the past to the present, reminding future generations to remember a tragic and heroic period of our army and people.
People's Artist Nguyen Xuan Bac and Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach conducted the orchestra, combining with singers to bring impressive performances.
