In early July, Minh Hien (Hanoi) and a group of close friends traveled to Bai Dong (Thanh Hoa) - a new "healing" location that has emerged in the past 3 years.
“Our group discussed locations such as Quan Lan, Co To (Quang Ninh), Cat Ba (Hai Phong) or Bai Dong. After calculating, the group chose Bai Dong because it is convenient to travel, does not require trains or ferries, and the cost of accommodation, food, and services is also very cheap.
My group of 5 members went for 3 days and 2 nights, played freely and only spent about 1.5 million VND/person. Taking pictures of the sunrise at Bai Dong is just as beautiful as the famous islands", Hien said.

Bai Dong belongs to Nghi Son peninsula, about 60km south of Thanh Hoa city center and more than 200km from Hanoi. This is a "gateway" connecting the mainland with Me island - a cluster of islands considered a marine nature reserve.

From Hanoi, visitors can travel to Bai Dong in just 4 hours by private car or limousine (price 250,000 - 300,000 VND/person/way), bus (about 150,000 VND/person/way).
Mr. Quoc Duy, a tourism worker in Nghi Son, said that the number of visitors looking for, booking tours or experiencing services in the Bai Dong area and Me Island this summer has increased. SUP tours, night squid fishing, 2-day-1-night Me Island tours, watching the sunrise along Bai Dong beach, etc. are especially popular with visitors.
According to Mr. Quoc Duy, there are three destinations that are loved by tourists here, including: The beach of Nghi Son Eco Island resort; "lonely tree" - about 400m from the beach (the lonely tree has now fallen down but this area is still a beautiful place to watch the sunrise and sunset); Nghi Son Bay fishing village.
Visitors can also spend time visiting the peaceful fishing village, church, lighthouse... Life here is peaceful, bringing a feeling of leisure and gentleness.
In the evening, visitors can enjoy seafood in the fishing village, drink coffee, and watch the sea. Compared to Hai Tien and Sam Son, the Bai Dong beach area is said to have cheaper prices. With 450,000 - 500,000 VND/person, visitors can experience renting tents, grilling seafood by the sea...
If you have time, you can combine it with a tour to Bung Island, experience fishing, boating, coral viewing, and enjoy local cuisine. The cost is about 300,000 VND/person.
According to many articles sharing experiences of traveling to Bai Dong, the cost for a 2-day, 1-night trip here only ranges from 1 - 1.3 million VND/person, including staying at a comfortable motel/hotel, eating fresh seafood, participating in a SUP tour, and renting a motorbike.
However, visitors should note that there are still quite a few resorts, motels, hotels, and homestays in Bai Dong. Visitors should research and book in advance to have the accommodation they want.
The 'healing' stream is 30km from Hanoi, visitors can enjoy it for only 100,000 VND . The stream area is quite large, the water is clear and clean, on both banks are rows of tall trees, suitable as a "healing" destination for families and groups of young people to experience the outdoors. The road is convenient, cars and motorbikes can reach the place.
