Bach Dang River has always been an epic in the cause of building and defending the country of our people. This place marks the glorious victory of the Dai Viet army and people over the Northern invaders three times: in 938 - Ngo Quyen defeated the Southern Han army; in 981, Emperor Le Dai Hanh defeated hundreds of thousands of invading Song troops; and in 1288, Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan defeated the Yuan Mongol army.

The Bach Dang Festival 2025 will be held for 4 days from April 3 to April 6 (ie the 6th to the 9th of the third lunar month). The festival is a political, cultural and tourism event of special importance to Quang Ninh province, to pay tribute to the contributions and sacrifices of our ancestors and national heroes who have made great contributions to the country and the people.

The festival is also an opportunity to promote and honor the values ​​and historical significance of the Bach Dang National Special Relic Site and the Bach Dang Traditional Festival - National Intangible Cultural Heritage to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

Bach Dang Festival 2025, consists of 2 parts. Part of the ceremony: praying for the souls of soldiers in the naval battle, the death anniversary of the Mother Goddess Temple; the procession of the statue of Saint Tran; through the rituals, praying for the tutelary god to protect and bless the villagers with good health and prosperity. In particular, the people here have the custom of letting children crawl through the palanquin with the wish for good health, good study and success.

The festival includes: reenacting the battle through folk performances; games such as rowing boats, traditional wrestling, tug of war, human chess, swinging, cockfighting...

The festival activities have brought visitors meaningful cultural and historical experiences, immersing them in a unique and jubilant festival atmosphere. Thereby, contributing to educating patriotism, arousing pride in the glorious historical traditions of the nation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Duc Thang - Chairman of Quang Yen Town People's Committee, requested the Management Board of Bach Dang National Special Historical Relic to closely coordinate with local authorities, pay more attention to the work of preserving and embellishing the relic. At the same time, it is necessary to have a plan to organize the festival on an increasingly large scale and methodically, thereby widely promoting the significance of the Great Victory of Bach Dang, preserving and promoting the value of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage - Bach Dang Festival.

With the great values ​​and importance of the Bach Dang Victory historical relic, the Prime Minister has ranked the Bach Dang Victory Historical Relic Complex as a special national relic; the Bach Dang Traditional Festival has been honored by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to be recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage. Currently, Quang Yen town has completed the dossier to include the Bach Dang special national relic in the dossier of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a world heritage.
