Northern and Central Vietnam experience scorching heat exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, over the next two days (May 17-18), the Northern region will experience hot weather, with some areas experiencing intense heat. The highest temperatures will reach 36-38 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity will be 45-55%; the hottest hours will be from 11 AM to 5 PM.

In the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, the heat is exceptionally intense with temperatures reaching 37-39 degrees Celsius, and in some places exceeding 40 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity is 40-50%; the heat mainly lasts from 10 am to 6 pm. The intense heat in this area is likely to last until around May 23rd.

In Northern Vietnam, the heatwave is likely to ease on May 19th, but will intensify again from May 20th to 23rd. Meteorological experts particularly note that the temperature forecast in heatwave reports and the actual temperature felt outdoors can differ by 2-4 degrees, or even more, depending on the surface conditions such as concrete or asphalt. Additionally, the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam will continue to experience hot weather, but it will gradually subside with thunderstorms in the evening.

Cloudy, hot during the day, intensely hot in some areas; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night. Light winds. South winds, force 2-3. Lowest temperature: 25-28 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 34-37 degrees Celsius, above 38 degrees Celsius in some areas.

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue

Cloudy, hot and intensely hot during the day, exceptionally hot in some areas, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night. South to southwest winds, 2-3 Beaufort scale. Lowest temperature: 24-27 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 36-39 degrees Celsius, exceeding 39 degrees Celsius in some areas.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan

Cloudy with sunny periods, some areas experiencing hot weather, especially in the North where it will be hot and intensely hot; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night. South to southwest winds at 2-3 Beaufort. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Lowest temperature: 25-28 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 32-35 degrees Celsius, some areas above 35 degrees Celsius; in the North, 36-38 degrees Celsius, some areas above 38 degrees Celsius.

Central Highlands

Cloudy, sunny days, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Light winds. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms. Lowest temperature: 21-24 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 29-32 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 32 degrees Celsius. Southern Vietnam: Cloudy, sunny days, with some areas experiencing hot weather; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Light winds. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms. Lowest temperature: 25-28 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 32-35 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. Hanoi: Cloudy, hot and sunny days, with some areas experiencing intense heat; no rain at night. South winds, force 2-3. Lowest temperature: 25-27 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 33-36 degrees Celsius.
