On December 6, doctors from Military Hospital 268, Logistics Department, Military Region 4, in coordination with local authorities of Trung Son commune, HA Luoi (Thua Thien - Hue) organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to more than 300 households.
The leader of Trung Son commune said that the locality is a commune near the border, with over 99% of the population being ethnic minorities, with low educational level, high poverty rate..., so the people's lives face many difficulties, especially in taking care of their own health.
A working delegation from Military Hospital 268 examined and provided free medicine to more than 300 households in Trung Son border commune.
To help share the difficulties of the people and prevent common diseases, doctors from Military Hospital 268 provided general examinations and screening for common diseases of the elderly for more than 300 people, and at the same time instructed people on how to care for and treat diseases at home.
Doctor Phan Van Tuan, Head of the General Planning Department, Military Hospital 268, said: "Through examination, we found that most of the people here often suffer from high blood pressure, gastritis, osteoarthritis, and respiratory diseases. However, because people do not go to medical facilities for treatment but buy medicine to take themselves, not only do their diseases not improve but they also show signs of getting worse. Therefore, we have also focused on instructing people to recognize common diseases, thereby showing them how to treat and prevent them to help them take care of their health for common diseases."
On this occasion, the Board of Directors of Military Hospital 268 and the People's Committee of Trung Son commune held a signing ceremony to implement the model of officers and soldiers of Military Hospital 268 "Joining hands to take care of the health of ethnic minorities" in order to further promote health care for people in border areas.
During this working trip, Military Hospital 268, Defense Economic Group 92 and Vinh Long Company also presented more than 50 gifts to families with special difficult circumstances, each worth 500,000 VND.
