Bac Ninh: Opening of the Fourth Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day

The 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 in Bac Ninh province will be held from April 11 to April 13, 2025 in the Bac Ninh Provincial Library with many programs and rich content. This is a meaningful activity, contributing to building a spiritual and cultural life, promoting good moral values, continuing the tradition of studiousness, culture, and mandarin examinations of the land of talented people Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac.

Book and Reading Culture Day, with about 30 booths displaying and introducing books from more than 10 bookstores, book distribution companies and publishers with nearly 100,000 book titles and over 1 million books registered for display. In addition, there are a series of activities such as book giveaways, book promotion and introduction, exchanges, discussions and discussions about books with famous speakers.

In addition to the main activities at this year's Book and Reading Culture Day, an important task that has been and is being implemented to arouse passion and promote the movement to develop Reading Culture in the community is the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest and the "Family Reading - Connecting Love" Contest.

These are key and practical activities launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, contributing to the continued implementation of the Project on developing Reading Culture in the community until 2020, with a vision to 2030, period 2021 - 2025.

In Bac Ninh, the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Department of Education and Training in the past 4 years, has achieved remarkable results.

The Bac Ninh Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025 will be implemented in 02 months (April and May 2025), an activity for students from primary to high school in the whole province, aiming to continue affirming the important role and good values ​​of reading culture; spreading the passion for reading to the young generation.

The contest not only fosters a love of reading but is also a place to share reading experiences and develop a reading culture, expressing each individual's thoughts, feelings and responsibilities to the community, especially contributing to arousing the will, aspiration to contribute, and determination to develop a prosperous and happy homeland and country.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Nghiem Van Hach - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province said that Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Bac Ninh province is an annual activity to honor the value of books and reading culture in the community.

At the same time, promote, commend and replicate typical examples with many contributions to building and developing a reading culture; contribute to implementing the Party and State's policies on developing a reading culture, continue to arouse and promote the tradition of culture, revolution and education.

Mr. Hach shared that in the spiritual life of each of us, books play a very important role, being a source of knowledge to nurture human intelligence and soul. Reading books has long become a necessary need of human society, throughout the history of building and defending the nation, books have always been considered a tool to accumulate, preserve history, disseminate life experiences, knowledge, and cultural quintessence of humanity, of the ages, through many periods.

Reading books, preserving books, and creating bookcases and libraries are ways to accumulate and develop a reading culture. Encouraging and developing the reading movement among the entire population is the driving force and main tool to achieve the goal of striving to build a knowledge foundation in each person, each family and the whole society.
